    HI everybody,

First an apology, if this is in the wrong place please move it!

I have a PPI refund claim against Egg, which they declined in Feb 2008. I then referred this to the FOS, but today I have found-out that it still hasn't been passed to a caseworker/adjudicator.

I know they are busy bees at the moment (thanks in part to this great site!), but 8 months and it still hasn't been 'looked at'!

Anybody had any success by using the FOS andhow ling did it take?

The guy on the phone at the FOS was about as useful as a chocolate kettle. He had the attitude of like it or lump it!

Sorry to hear your still waiting for this to be passed on.
And your on the correct thread lol.

Not sure if you applied for Fast track or not due to personal financial difficulties perhaps, but maybe they are moving on with these first, then on to the others.
I have heard the FOS has never had so many complaints in PPI before, the numbers are getting larger.

If your struggling at present, let them know, they may move it on a little quicker.;)

Fingers crossed and I hope you hear soon with some good news, but send them an email now and again, this will give them a bit of a nudge.:D

Di has given you all the information so I would contact the FSCS today.
You will only get back what you lost plus interest I believe if you have a successful claim they dont pay compensation. I could be wrong worth asking when you ring and if you can keep us updated.

I have just sent a complaint in and expect a long wait, Egg is coming up a lot this week hopefully they have been looked into and will be fined.
Wish I knew why some complaints are quicker than others.

Hi thanks so much for your help. I checked and from what we remember all we were told was that we were getting a 'fully protected loan' for 186.78 per month, although when we got the paperwork to sign the payments are broken down but back then we had not a clue that loans were broken down any other way and my husband just signed it. We were sold the loanprotect by NRock but the Policy summary is from Cardif Pinnacle. We had no dealings with C Pinnacle. I feel a bit cheated in the fact that i didn't think of asking what the loan would have cost 'unprotected' I kind of went with their expertise!! We are also paying interest on the loanprotect as it was a lump sum on top of the loan. Can i claim on the fact that my husband is self-employed or is he covered for the fact he pays class 2. Sorry i sound so thick but i am when it comes to all this!!!
You policy would tell you if your hubby was actually allowed to claim or not as some pay out under self employment and some don't. Its usually if you are paying class 2 NI then you can make a claim.

As you had other reasons too ie you were not given a choice as they just gave you the loan details without asking then that is a claim and also did you actually know that the policy incurred interest on this.

I would write to NR and do a letter from the link I gave to you earlier add as many reasons as you can from the letter. Try and make it your own and let us know how you get on. If you are just saying your only reason from making a complaint about the sale is the self employment then I doubt you will get a missold on that alone as the policy may actually cover you.

Good luck and shout if you need any more help .

Some complaints are not fast tracked. Its if there is a goodwill offer they get on with them. Some firms (like co-op) offer these amounts and then they still keep all their brownie points. I thought mine with co-op was fast tracked but they had offered a goodwill payment and that is why it was looked into. There is no need to adjudicate then. Its a way of saying "I am admitting nothing but I will pay out all the same".

Did you mean 56,000 Loan plus PPI or did I read it right that it was just the PPI:eek: Do you mean it is with the Solicitors to make the loan void or unenforceable?

Sorry if you have explained in another post am bit confused (does not take a lot)
