No rebate, from either, thats why I have taken it further. Hopefully as its gone to solicitors they will realise there mistakes. Thanks for the additional info from you all.

    Hi Thomo

I did not realise you had taken this to the solicitors to deal with.
However, you could mention about the broker to the solicitors just in case.

We wish you luck and please keep us posted.;)

(did also send you a further pm - but not to worry now) lol.

I forgot to mention, I did not know I had a part rebate until they supplied me with some calculation information, all this time I had thought I did not have any rebate at first as it was not shown in the settlement paperwork, its only because I wrote to Endeavour that they said there was a part rebate and then sent me the calculations.

Again all the best in yours.;)

I think you could have a claim here but probably with any other reasons too from the link below. Who actually sold the policy to you as these are the ones that you make the complaint to if different to Northern Rock...

Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the letter that you send. There is also a template letter on there too but sometimes it can be better to make your own up from this.

You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.

After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

    Good luck

Hi thanks so much for your help. I checked and from what we remember all we were told was that we were getting a 'fully protected loan' for 186.78 per month, although when we got the paperwork to sign the payments are broken down but back then we had not a clue that loans were broken down any other way and my husband just signed it. We were sold the loanprotect by NRock but the Policy summary is from Cardif Pinnacle. We had no dealings with C Pinnacle. I feel a bit cheated in the fact that i didn't think of asking what the loan would have cost 'unprotected' I kind of went with their expertise!! We are also paying interest on the loanprotect as it was a lump sum on top of the loan. Can i claim on the fact that my husband is self-employed or is he covered for the fact he pays class 2. Sorry i sound so thick but i am when it comes to all this!!!

I've made a claim against Egg. I applied for a loan in 2001, and when i called to be talked through it i was told i had to take PPI otherwise the loan would be refused. Being young, and niave a thought nothing of it.

to make it worse it was a single premium policy. so i ended up paying an extra £850 (approx) on top of a loan.

I've spoken to them over the phone to make sure they had received it and to give them my updated contact numbers. They confirmed they received it on the 27th. so i'm now stuck waiting on them to decide to pay up or not.

The 8% interest, can i claim that for each year thats past (i.e 8% x 7)???

Anyone had much luck with Egg. I'm hoping they do pay out, because £937 would be nice just before Christmas.

Good luck with this. Some people get paid back easily, others get no where.
I have had 2 get lost letters which havent adressed my complaint at all and then others Ive read about get a refund because Egg cant find a copy of the call:confused:

    Hi there
Pinknico on here has her claim registered with the financial scheme, due to Picture not being active any longer etc.
    http://www.fscs.org.uk/

Click on the link and you will come across Consumer, contact them and they will send you a form, this way they investigate the company where I am aware the investigations are almost complete.

So all is not lost, contact the above and they will be able to advise you on this matter.

    Good luck

  • HI everybody,

First an apology, if this is in the wrong place please move it!

I have a PPI refund claim against Egg, which they declined in Feb 2008. I then referred this to the FOS, but today I have found-out that it still hasn't been passed to a caseworker/adjudicator.

I know they are busy bees at the moment (thanks in part to this great site!), but 8 months and it still hasn't been 'looked at'!

Anybody had any success by using the FOS andhow ling did it take?

The guy on the phone at the FOS was about as useful as a chocolate kettle. He had the attitude of like it or lump it!

You can still complain about the unfair rebate/or no rebate to the insurers, so if you check who they are on your documents, write to them and see what happens.;)
