  • Hello All, Its been a while since I was on here and Im catching up with all the posts to help with my claims against Welcome Finance and Swift Finance. I recieved the usual 'no-chance' first response from both companies in February but because of domestic and other problems, I havent had time to pusue my claims any futher. Am I too late to continue with my claims?

(P.S. I dont want to sound sloppy but the marvelous advice and support on this site never ceases to amaze and delight me!)

    Hi there
    And there's a lovely comment, thank you.:D :A .

Good to see you back here anyway.

Now I know time has gone on, but you could always try writing again and explain you have received your response earlier in the year, but due to unfortunate circumstances you were unable to continue at that time to pursue any further, so you wish to do so now that your in the right frame of mind.

I assume you already know where the template guide is on here, but if not check out the above red box reclaim £1,000's where all the info and templates are there.;)

As usual give them 8 weeks to respond.

Any problem, just post back here where one of us will be able to offer to guide you with these reclaims.

Good luck and if you don't try you will never know.:D

I have a Loan with Egg that I took on in March 06 for £15000 - I called them this morning and they said the insurance was £1300 (included in the 15k).

Now, the the Loan isn't a set term Loan i.e. I can make the minimum payment or pay it off in full whenever I like.

With that in mind how do I calculate how much interest has been charged to date on the PPI? My fixed rate APR is 6.9%

I'm just on the first stage at the moment and have written a letter to Egg this morning requesting the T&C's and a copy of the signed agreement. They orginally told me I had to have the PPI otherwise I wouldn't be accepted for the Loan.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I took a loan out with Northern Rock in 2006 and was told I had to take PPI or wouldn't get the loan. In 2007 my circumstances changed so I asked if I could extend the loan by 1 year and was made to take out and reapply for a 2nd loan, at a higher interest rate, with PPI.

I have since closed this loan account, but no longer have any paperwork for it, as I shred everything!

Can I still make a claim against Northern Rock... especially as they have now been nationalised?

    Thanks

    Hi there,

I have now received copies of my loan agreements from Northern Rock, but did not recieve any of the calculations. Do I need these to send off my letter? I ahve already drafted them and they are ready to go!

    Thanks in advance
    Northern Rock PPI - £199.53 + £17.06 interest - Settled in full 16.01.09
Capital One - £304 + £60 interest - Court Form submitted & deemed served to Capital One 12.05.09
    Lloyds TSB CC - £524 + £136 interest - Settled for £921.33 13.05.09!!!
Lloyds TSB CA - £1778 + £387.50 interest - On hold due to test case - letter before action sent

If the actual loan was 13700 then (???) being 15K less the 1300

then the PPI element would be 0.086% (which is worked out at 1300 divided by 15000).
I don't know what else I can tell you on this one...

    Hi there
You do not actually need the calculations at this point but can still request for them and still continue to send a reclaim letter, as they have 8 weeks to respond.
    The calculations can come afterwards.;)

Check in above red box reclaim £1,000's there you will also find the link to the reclaim template to guide you through this and if you could write in your own words as much as possible why you feel you were mis sold.

As soon as they reply get back in order for us to guide you to the following step, hope they refund you all first time round, and remember post by recorded post.;)

    All the best.

  • About 7 years ago i took out a loan for £14000 with Lombard direct and stupidly took out the PPI for a cost of about £4500 (don't remember the exact figure) which was also lent to me at the time of taking the loan out. So in effect i was paying interest on about £18500. I finshed paying the entire loan off in August 2007

Firstly i am an asthamatic which i assume would not have been covered under the policy should i have become too bad to work. i never remember them asking if i had any pre-existing medical condition.

Are companies allowed to make you take out a loan and pay interest on the PPI?

Does anyone think i have a valid claim as i paid out ovber £5000 for something that potentially would nothave benefited me under certain pre-existing medical conditions.

Please help as i cannot establish whether i may have a valid claim.
