Yes, I think I have all the side affects going:eek:

    Oh Dear

Some people are very sensitive to medication. If I take anything with the warning "may make you drowsy" it knocks me out completely. I am such a lightweight:rotfl:

    Hi Dreamer

Am sure you are aware but Sertraline can give you an upset stomach.
I think ALL anti depressants have BAD side effects... Often talking to psychologist can be far better but its a timely thing and dishing out the anti depressants is often quicker and cheaper...

I think some docs dish them out too willy nilly and they are too difficult to get off then. I am not a fan or them and firmly believe changes in lifestyle and talking is a lot healthier in the long run. And brisk walking and slight exercise helps loads..

I take nothing if I can help it.. only my BP tabs and tried to come off those too but it did not work and realised that I needed them.

I don't really like taking them but I was at a point where I could'nt cope with anything, motivation at the minute is a big problem for me. I get stressed very easily, before I could cope with anything but over last yr just went downhill.

I was going to CBT meetings but had to stop it because I could not concentrate on trying to think differently, I just got too much going on at minute.

Don't know about anyone else but with me its not just one thing that comes along its seems to be everything stressful at once....

Was taking citalopram 30mg had to reduce it to 20mg as they were effecting the enzyme on my liver, neede blood tests to check it, had to go back to docs as 20mg was no good.

Taking sertraline 50mg at the minute.

    Hi dreamer.
My hubby was on 20mg Citalopram, a few weeks back they moved them up to 40mg, he is also taking ibruprofen for his discs problems and tramodol.

I just take BP meds which is Adizem 180mg and that is enough for me, if I have a stinking headache I can only take 1 pain killer, like us all none of us like taking tablets and I know some cannot be avoided.

Hubby do seem to be picking up since they upped his dose but I hope they lower them soon and hopefully he will eventually come off them.

Good luck to you as well hunni.;)

    Thanks marshallka

I would love to come of them but am worried about how I would cope, when I went down to 20mg I was a complete mess.

I have this thing at work whereby I can call them 24-7 just to talk to them, they are really good.

I am a believer that it is always better to talk about it, I do think it helps.

When I go to the doctors I am going to ask him if I can see a pyshcologist, suffered from panic attacks yrs ago and he was really good. CBT is no good for me just yet.

My hubby used to do Martial arts, but is no longer able to do it, but he now goes swimming and is starting up yoga, this is supposed to be real good therapy.

I would love to go back to aerobics again so I will in time, for now I do my own little things here, we do have a workbench with the dumb bells etc and the wii fit can be handy too lol.:D

    Hi Dreamer.

Think that sometimes anti-deps are good to get you into the frame of mind for the talking therapy. If somebody is extremely depressed or so badly suffering OCD or for instance Bi-Polar or PTSD it can get them into a place where they can manage therapy.

Mind you therapy is only as good as the therapists themselves and as in a lot of professions they are not all effective. I think if you find a good one that you can talk to then that is good.

I have known a load in my profession but how many would I use if I needed to, probably about 2 or 3. That is just my opinion but believe in changes in life style etc alongside conventional therapy.

    Take care Dreamer:D

Yes, swimming is very good. I think its hard get over not being able to do this things you used to do. Must also invest in a wii fit, motivation is a hard thing for me at min.
