Just got my offer reply from HFC bank today after putting in my complaint in june 2008. Took the complaint to the ombudsman in Sept after getting just two letters in that time and no joy on the phone. The Ombudsman passed it to one of the ajudicators in early Jan 09 in last letter from them so far,but the letter from HfC states that i paid £4155.14 + 8% intrest on the PPI's that i had with them, and that was what i was intitled to.But in the next page they said because i still owe them some money they would have to deduct this from that amount, meaning i would see none of it in real terms and i'd have to take out a new loan on the outstanding amount at the same interest rate of the old loan of 33.9%, or take a token payment of £470.00 and take out a new loan on the amended amount again at the old rate of 33.9%.
Its a victory in ways, but not one i'm happy to accept. As having that money in your hand is better than seeing it pay off a loan, with the only outcome being lower payments. Oh well. What do you think boys and girls! take it or leave it!

    Hi
So your loan is still active then?
No arrears on the loan ?

If this is the case write and ask if this can be paid directly to you as this is your preferred method, you can ask.;)

    Well done anyway......:T  . X

hi thanks for the reply. no i dont have any of the documents not sure how long ago it was either maybe about 4 yrs. do i need all this to claim ?

    Hi there

You may find the information/documents may be some help of support towards your complaint and its handy to know what is what of your cover, if this would have covered you or not, but as there are also many other reasons for mis selling you could check this link out below which will give you more of an idea and there is also a letter template you can use, but try to use your own words and add your own reasons, they have 8 weeks to respond in full, with Lloyds if they do not uphold on this first time they do tend to give you a chance to write to them again, but we will help you through that stage if its required.
Post by recorded delivery for your proof of posting and to track down delivery on the royal mail website, in order to keep an eye on the 8 weeks.

Good luck, here is the link with the info:

If you require the SAR for your documents, let us know and one of us will be happy to post up for you.;)

    Hi
I would write to them and tell them as you have no arrears on your account, you will appreciate it if this refund is paid directly back to you.
Also check out the success thread and maybe leave a post on there, where others will be able to help you here as well.
The thread is next to this one, good luck.;)

  • Hi all :)

I recently started the PPI reclaim process on a loan I had with NatWest a few years ago; downloaded the letter template, edited it and sent it on. Instead of a direct response from NatWest I received a letter requesting more information from the 'PPI Customer Concerns Team, Regulatory Risk' department of RBS?

I have no problem with giving them the information but was wondering if anyone else had received a similar response?

    Thanks!

I had the same response when I tried to claim back my PPI from Tesco PF. Don't hold your breath though, they try to worm their way out of repaying.

    Hi Hikui

How long has this complaint been with them ?

If they do not respond within the 8 weeks you can still ask the Financial ombudsman service to investigate your complaint for you.

So they require more information from you regarding your PPI complain then?

This can happen, but just keep an eye on those 8 weeks, good luck and please keep us posted.;)
