hi everyone
i need some advise i have a credit card with LTSB at the time of taking the card my bank manager was fully aware i was self employed when i asked if ppi would be any good to me he told me it would. do you think i have a claim on that basis as clearly its of no use to me at all ?0 -
Hi good morning yes well im going to see what happens with them and if i still don't get any joy i will actually go to the bank and see someone. I will tell them to stuff there account and they will most certainly loose out over the years they have had tens of thousands off me. I am only asking for a little bit back of what they have had so in all fairness its not going to cost them. they have had my money so why shouldn't i get a little back.
It just shows how petty they can be my credit card was totally cleared off with a balance tranfer £0 balance and they sent me a statement saying i owed 7p yes 7p interest on cash advance, i rang them up and told them what for. All i can say is if they don't oblige they better watch this space, coz i wont be easy to fob off.
Hope you have some luck with your quest.0 -

Hi Grabber,
Have you still the policy booklet/terms and conditions of when you had taken out the Credit Card?
I know what your saying, but if you can check these out first, as some are still covered for this whilst being self employed...its worth double checking though, I was an homemaker with just receiving my children's benefits a month and this was also added to mine as well, in 2001, they state that I was still covered for Life cover, hospitalisation and job solutions, right now my case is with the financial ombudsman service.
But like I said check this out first and we shall take it from there.
If you've no documents, when what year did you take this out?
You can always request for a copy of your agreement, they may be a charge of a £1 cheque for this, or send a SAR (Subject Access request) this is a cost of £10 cheque or postal order payment, they have 40 days to comply and send everything they have on you on your account(s) with them.
There is a letter template for this a page or 2 back, any problems let us know and we shall re-post this for you.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

About 4 weeks ago I sent my 1st letter to Egg. I received an almost immeadiate response saying they'd got the letter and they would reply within 8 weeks (standard stuff).
Is it worth me sending an email now (4 weeks in) just asking how it is progressing (i.e. a "gentle nudge") or is it just better for me to be patient and wait another 4 weeks?0 -
Just got my offer reply from HFC bank today after putting in my complaint in june 2008. Took the complaint to the ombudsman in Sept after getting just two letters in that time and no joy on the phone. The Ombudsman passed it to one of the ajudicators in early Jan 09 in last letter from them so far,but the letter from HfC states that i paid £4155.14 + 8% intrest on the PPI's that i had with them, and that was what i was intitled to.But in the next page they said because i still owe them some money they would have to deduct this from that amount, meaning i would see none of it in real terms and i'd have to take out a new loan on the outstanding amount at the same interest rate of the old loan of 33.9%, or take a token payment of £470.00 and take out a new loan on the amended amount again at the old rate of 33.9%.
Its a victory in ways, but not one i'm happy to accept. As having that money in your hand is better than seeing it pay off a loan, with the only outcome being lower payments. Oh well. What do you think boys and girls! take it or leave it!0 -
hi thanks for the reply. no i dont have any of the documents not sure how long ago it was either maybe about 4 yrs. do i need all this to claim ?0

Hi there.
I would see what happens by 8 weeks, although some I know do email just to confirm "thank you for your reply regarding my PPI matter, I look forward to hearing from you within the 8 weeks you have within the timescale on my first letter".;) Good luck !The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
