I have had to leave my details again and someone called Gary will call this afternoon.
Bet they give me the usual spiel about no time span on a company being declared in default.

Right then... Northern Rock have got back to me pretty speedily and I now have a questionnaire about my PPI to complete and return within 14 days before they will look into my claims.
They want to know about the policy details... I only have the loan agreement documents adn that doesn't mention policy numbers for the PPI or the company it was through. I'm really confused what to put on it.
They also want to know if it is my forst PPI policy and what other policies I had in place when I took out the loan. Is this just with Northern Rock or ALL policies that I have had?
Cheers for your help in advance!
You never asked for this information when taking out the loan so why would this be of any relevance now and I reiterate my complaint again and would now a final response.
Good luck0 -

Why would you say you are claiming it back....
Do you feel it was missold to you and for what reasons...
If you just want to cancel it then have to offer a fair refund on it and then redo the loan..
I was mis-sold in the first place as i was made to believe i would not get the loan without it. So I should make a claim rathen than cancel it??

Hi Di, Marshallka,
Thanks for your previous assistance/advice, it has inspired me this afternoon to do ANOTHER letter...while my dd sleeps beside me.
Marshallka, you said on a previous thread to me to take my case to the FOS for Unfair rebate against the Insurer of the Policy (how can I find out who the Insurer is) the Company is REDCATS Vertbaudet Catalougue.
I previously filed a complaint to the FOS, but it got rejected as the REDCATS were not regulated prior to Jan 2004, policy misold in Dec 2003!!! The redcats gave me a very tiny rebate several months ago...they keep telling me no MORE!! Bums....
So, how do I go about an unfair rebate and will the FOS throw it out again.
P.s I requested a policy document, as I never got one. And in it, in black and white it says that you can complain to the FOS. Plus I never even met certain criterias too - not working (full tme mum)
Can you help me a little please
Thanks H0 -

I thought as they offered a 3 month rebate then this was a loan.. I have just looked back at your post and maybe I was a little lost on this...
Just found my post back to you here
Who is this about angel?? Who are you complaining to? Also if they did send you documents stating on the policy that you can take your complaint to the FOS then this may a complaint you can take to the FOS about unfair rebate against the insurer of the policy and not the lender or broker. I have a complaint in for unfair rebate of the PPI policy and it has to be made against the insurer and not the lender so FOS have told me. This is then under compulsory jurisdiction.
It would not be possible to claim "unfair rebate" as this was against the catalogue company, sorry...but if you find any terms in that agreement that you do not agree with then that is where your argument stands.. its highly unlikely though.
But pinknico is fighting another one of these and I know they do not keep signed credit agreements so you could always ask them for this info and also ask them for proof that you wanted this protection...
If they cannot provide a signed agreement for you then that is another string to your bow to continue your claim for the protection insurance...
Perhaps when pinknico is back on later she can advise you here..0 -

Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the letter that you send. There is also a template letter on there too but sometimes it can be better to make your own up from this.
You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.
After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.
