Both myself and Pinknico received our FSCS forms the same time and they received them back the same time.;)
Even though Twopart had liquidated earlier, I think the Picture one is being dealt with first because I had to also register with the liquidators, so Twopart will take that longer I think, yet it was back a few weeks they had said they were investigating.......:rolleyes:0 -

Yep it is, yet the FSCS did say they do not see any link between them......, I think I should try to find out what is happening.
I know that I read a post on here yesterday that Picture were also taken over, so not sure how they go about this, it depends I suppose, maybe they do not hold new holders responsible of a sale, because I do know that staff were finished off too.....The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks for the link on voluntary juristiction, It seems my complaint with Central Trust in 2003 misses out by 2 weeks as this started in april 1st 2003 and they sold me this 14th March 2003, I may cry if this is the case. I have sent the forms to the fos anyway.DS1 12/10/04

I have to get ready to pop out soon, but have in the meantime emailed the FSCS for an update - hopefully they will get back later with some update.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0

Apologies in advance for not searching but this thread is so long.....
I am not sure where I stand on this but hopefully someone will have an idea. I have only ever had one credit card and it is a Barclaycard VISA (well two if you count the Barclaycard MasterCard that I have but never use). I originally took this out when I moved jobs (I moved bank branches as well due to the location). This was back in 1992 when I was just 21 so don't ask me to remember whether I was asked if I wanted Payment Protection.
At the time the card was purely to assist with my job as I went from an office bound position to working all over the country so needed it to pay for petrol, hotels etc before claiming it back each month on expenses. I have never missed one payment - I may have been late once or twice but have always paid the full amount each month.
Obviously as is the way of the world I now use my credit card to pay for lots of things and not just work expenses, however I always pay up in full each month.
Last year I saw a program which featured Martin Lewis talking about Payment Protection Insurance but never thought too much about it. That was until I read my credit card statement and noticed the last charge was one for Payment Protection Plan. I had always assumed this was a compulsary payment? I telephoned the customer services number on the back of the statement and asked whether this was compulsary and they said it wasn't but was a payment plan I had agreed to.
I actually have all my Credit Card statements since 1992 (sad I know) so I can work out exactly what I have paid. I can't find any references or documentation of this Payment Protection Plan and I have never received any paperwork or agreement to sign (obviously not since 1992 anyway).
What I would like to know is have I got a case and what should I do next?
Thanks

If you know the very first date you opened the account and also have this in proof then there is always a chance of getting this back...but a very small one here since 1992...
Just take a look at the link here and see what you can add and delete from the letter that you send. There is also a template letter on there too but sometimes it can be better to make your own up from this.
You then write to the firm that actually made the sale of the PPI to you if this is different from the lender and don't forget to send this recorded delivery so you always a proof and dates etc.
After that you have to give them 8 weeks for a full and final response. In this time it is usual to get a response of "sorry we sold this to you fairly" but you then respond to this and reiterate your complaint again. The next time they write they either give you a final response which you would need in order to take this complaint to the FOS or offer to settle.

Hi Andy
I know Marshallka has answered you post but just one point is that as in mine you needed to opt out of the PPI rather than opt in. The clause was right down the bottom on the right hand side of the form. If that was the case you would have a good case.:D:mad:0 -

Hi and thanks for that. What I am not sure about is who the insurance is actually with? My very first statement back in October 1992 has a final charge titled 'INSURANCE PREM. AT 0.300% on £183.89' and this changed to 'PAYMENT PROTECTION PLAN, 09 JUL' about 4.5 years later, it now just says 'Payment Protection Plan'. There are no details on any statements about who the insurance is actually with - I assume some part of Barclays?
I should be OK in putting together a letter, however I don't actually know where to send it.
Thanks
