Just wondering if anyone has any idea on the following.... Some months ago I realised I was paying PPI on a Credit Card which I cannot remember signing up for as I usually dont. Anyway, I cancelled this payment no problem but was just wondering if I had any case for reclaiming these PPI payments even if I am not sure if I agreed to them in the first place?

If you send the company an SAR you should be sent all the information about the account and how the PPI was added. Or you can just write to the company and say you believe you were mis sold as PPI was added without your consent and see what they come back with.

Morning to everyone, I just thought I would post up whilst having my toast and coffee, but ive been thinking (oh dangerous) I am in the process of claiming ppi with hsbc i have sent second letter after receiving first letter of decline, anyway been thinking I have been a customer with this bank for over 20 years and we have our mortgage and a loan ontop of the mortgage , my current account, overdraft facility and savings account (with nowt in it mind) but my thinking for the day is that they get loads of money from me from interest to bank charges ect, so i think its now time to get something back from them eg ppi. Anyway dont want to blab on but there's my thoughts of the day. Its better in my pocket than theres.
I will post up if I have any luck, here's hoping.
thanks to you all and this forum.

thats interesting I too am a "good customer" of HSBC.
I have a cheque account, ISA, credit card, home insurance and a not too small overdraft with them and it does seem the more tied in with them you are the harder it is to get anything back from them. I have been knocked back on claiming credit card charges, credit card PPI and loan PPI all now going through FOS
so it does makes me think that they are thinking that if a customer is so tied in with them they are less likely to make a fuss or even leave the bank altogether. but if a customer no longer has a connection to the bank they will be more willing to offer compensation to them.
A case in point is I was with Natwest for a number of years but left when I opened my HSBC account and I have since successfully claimed credit card charges and bank account charges without any fuss or needing to go to the FOS

I think its time that the SAR templates be reworded to request the disclosure of commissions paid and commissions recieved.

    What do you all think?
yes i do, ihave a complaint with first plus and have requested they let me know how much commision the person who sold me this got (the ppi was 22,506) bet that was a nice bonus for her!

    Hi there,

Just quickly went through your post, have you not received any of your requested CCA's yet?

You can always contact the information commissioner office as well who will be able to advise you about this here:
    https://www.ico.gov.uk/Global/contact_us.aspx

Anything you don't receive that your entitled to especially if its documents over the last 6 years.

Could you confirm what is in the questionaire please?
It maybe one of those questionaires that everyone who claims for being mis sold are given these to complete, but not everyone fill them, they just attach a letter to the form to tell them they know everything from the beginning of the application.
That's if its the same form, where I believe they use these for stalling tactics.

Sorry if I have mis read your post.

I am sure someone will post up to help all they can here, good luck through this.;)

Tylerlewis, I have a similar scenario with loans.co.uk, they want to offset against the loan if my claim is upheld, my ppi was £8100 added onto the loan at the start in one lump sum.. I too want a cheque, not to have it offset against the loan, what arguments did you use to succeed in getting them to offer a cheque instead?

    Have PM'd ya

    Hi all...

has anyones claim taken as long as mine? i reckon mine has been with the ombudsman for a good 10 months+ and is still waiting to be assigned to someone to look into it for me. I know there must be a huge number to work through but 10 months seems a long time to me.

    Thanks

    Hi hun
So this is still waiting to be passed on to an adjudicator then ??

As one of mine was rather complexed it had taken approx 14 months from start to finish, hopefully you will hear something soon.;)

Do you mind posting who the company is your complaining against?
I would contact them by ringing or emailing them now and again, when was the last letter you received from them?
    Cheers.:D

    Hey...

Yeah sure its Egg. I keep getting letters every couple of months saying were still waiting to be able to assign your case to an adjudicator etc.

I had a claim for HSBC done and dusted in a few weeks which i submitted around the same time and that flew through in about a month - so i was hoping for more of the same but obviously some of these take longer that others

Thanks for the speedy response ;)
