We're having problems with items in stock showing as out of stock and vice versa"
So it's fine for them to say something's in stock, let me place an order, send me a confirmation email saying the order's placed and then to neglect to tell me I can't have this item?
Oh, I emailed them yesterday asking about the order but received no reply.
This is *not* a good experience, I am bl**dy irate.
Just got off the phone with CS and was told that internet orders take 2 days to process and because I'm a new customer there would be a 14 day credit check period even though I paid via credit card!. WTG Empirestores, nice way to build up your customer base - idiots :mad:
It sucks when you miss the boat on a bargin, but to get on the boat and then get told "sorry there's no room" when you were at the front of the queue, just annoys the crap out of me.

Just phoned customer services..They have no record of my order at all....Even though my email confirmation said delivery by 20th december.....Typical...0

I can't believe they are doing a credit check when you opted for the pay by c/c option - that's ridiculous and actually goes against their terms and conditions.
I didn't have any problems with them when I placed an order with them for the first time a couple of weeks ago using the c/c option. In fact, I got my goods 5 days later. My brother-in-law ordered a Barbie tricycle from them on Monday or Tuesday (again a first-time customer using the c/c payment option) and he received an e-mail from them today saying it was being despatched.
The whole point of opting for the c/c option is so that you don't have to set up a credit account. In fact, if you choose to set up a credit account with Empire you get these terms and conditions at the bottom of the screen: We search the files of credit reference agencies who record the search and share information (including credit and electoral roll data) about you and the conduct of your account with them, other lenders and relevant third parties. We check everyone's details with fraud prevention agencies and if anyone gives us false or inaccurate information and we suspect fraud, we record this. Information from both sources about you, those with whom you are financially linked and others at your address may be used to make decisions about credit for you or them; to prove identity and for money laundering and fraud prevention. We may also use your information held within the Redcats group of companies, including shopping habits, to open and run your credit account, including payment recovery, debtor tracing and for our marketing.
If you choose to pay by c/c or debit card, then those terms and conditions don't apply. If I were you I would ring customer services again and speak to someone who knows what they are talking about, because I believe you have been given the wrong information.0 -
I ordered yesterday morning and have just called to check my order went through okay. My item has been dispatched, but apparently may not be here until 30th?? I am not too sure what is happening!! Ordered one of these and was so chuffed. Then i phoned just to check delivery and they couldnt trace the order. I was told that it "might" be ok and to wait until my delivery date and if it doesnt arrive to contact them.
I might be jumping the gun but previous empire fiascos i cant take the chance as i've set my heart on giving my son a bike this xmas so ordered this one from littlewoods reduced to £30 and with £15 code it works out at £15 so one way or the other hopefully i'm sorted, fingers crossed and thanks all for the info
