I don't hate her particularly - despise, loath might be better words. I see her as a talentless waste of space, who's entire career has been built on shabby cheap little programs (oh and massive HPI) where even younger, even more stupid people are persuaded to take a giant gamble because they happen to be on TV, and she is regarded as some kind of expert.

Now on the other side is Sarah Beeny, or even House Doctor - both people involved in the housing market yes, and maximising profit yes, but achieving it with some knowledge and hard graft.

Totally different kinds of people. IMO.

i like kirsty and to be fair, no one is going to get it right all the time,

No, but she manages to get it wrong pretty much all the time instead. She's very foolish.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

i like kirsty and to be fair, no one is going to get it right all the time, not many of us on here can claim that can we? i dont know why there is such hatred towards her on here, its not her personally that has contributed to the state of the whole financial crisis. the housing market is just one part of the finances of the uk and she is just one part of a small part of the housing market

No ones haveing a pop at her about the financial crisis thats only recent news

Its the blatant property ramping over the last few years that gets people annoyed......and the idiots on her program and those that watch it.

She said shed eat her hat if prices fell, well I got a german helmet here for her to munch on :D

She said that if interest rates go down further, then it is likely that we have reached the bottom and house prices may start to rise again but if interest rates stay put/go up, then house prices will keep on falling further. She also mentioned the lack of liquidity and how the Libor rate affects mortgage rates.
If she does get the bigger world picture about asset depreciation, then she sure as hell ain't admitting it.

For Krusty it still seems that a tweak in the legislation here (HIPs) and a tweak in interest rates there could turn the clocks back to happier times listening to Phil's jokes about taking the ladies upstairs and all those happy faces when the offer got phoned through.

Can you name one person in the entire country who doesn't expect UK interest rates to fall further?

Krusty knows this too as she watches the news like the rest of us so I haven't misrepresented her in the slightest

She isn't qualified to be considered any sort of property expert in issues to do with money, value and mortgages in my opinion. And I read she struggled with basic GCSEs, especially maths.

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/1896025/Locating-the-cause-of-the-property-crisis-with-Kirstie-Allsopp.html

    APRIL 2008
"It is good to buy, we shouldn't forget that. It's not irresponsible or selfish to want a roof over your head for your family. My last couple were a nanny, and a soldier in the Armed Forces. They had been saving up for six years.
Yvette Cooper countered with something similar to Andrew O'Neil the other week. After she'd blamed the banks for allowing big multiples and 100% and 125% mortgages, she then tried to claim it wasn't wrong to encourage people in to home-ownership this last few years. It is irresponsible to encourage people to buy nearly any price imo. You can rent and have a roof over your head.

And even in May 2008, in her interview to BBC, Kirstie was still in total denial about the market and the forces weighing down on it. SHE STILL WANTED PRICES TO KEEP GOING UP. And couldn't grasp the deposit issue.... honeymoon or deposit Kirstie?????

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7394731.stm

All her friends with 2nd houses she so defends can keep them - if they can afford to keep them that is, with mortgages, debt and negative employment outlook.

So it's interest rates now is it ?, a few months ago it was Stamp Duty:grin: . She is an 'expert' alright, unfortunately only at talking crap.

It just shows how bad the the VI spin is getting on the TV, the arguments she puts forward could be disassembled by a small child, yet their is no one their to challenge her.
