I know its a long shot but does anyone have any instructions on how to replace the LCD screen on the samsung D500? My friend has bought a replacement screen but hasn't got the foggiest on how to open it up and change it.
Thanks0 -
Thank you very much. This should be what he needs to do the job.0

be very carefull not to break the ribbon clamps when you lift them as it is almost impossible to get replacements.
its also worth replacing the ribbon at the same time as they are only about £4 and are damaged easily and go faulty over time0 -
this is not an easy job, believe me!
I tried and failed. there are 2 bits to solder (is that the right spelling? i dont know!)
Ended up taking it to a repair place who charged me £20. Was well worth the cash!

only 2 minor solders - ive done loads of these and they are easy when youve done a few but i wouldnt advise if youve had no phone experience0

Don't go there or you'll knacker the phone. Google repair centres for samsung and get a quote off them for repair. they are tricky to do and i know of a few customers who've had their phones damaged by people trying to change them. you have to unscrew the whole inner lcd screen and other bits and bobs like that to get the fasia off.
It is better to be thought of as an idiot than to open your mouth and remove all doubt

you don't need to strip the phone down to replace the lens. it can be replaced in under 2 mins if you know what your doing.
not many people know how to do it properly though, we do 20-30 a week.
PM for details and i'ii write some step by step instructions when i get a minute.
