Hi purple skies
I soak my fruit and feed my cakes in -Port, brandy, rum, kirsch and anything else I can get my hands on -but always at least the 1st 4..hick.... kirsch/cherry brandy is yummy in there.. so you can soak it in something else other than brandy

Sorry to post this here but I asked in the christmas cake thread and didn't get a reply so I was hoping I'd have more luck here!
Also to get back on topic, I've managed to survive over a week without heading to the shops but think I've stretched it as far as I can since I ran out of milk this morning and the fridge is looking very bare! Just about to write up a list and this time I'm sticking to it!
I don't eat Christmas Cake so don't really know what tastes best. I can tell you hoewever that my friend makes my OH one every year just for him and she always puts Port, Sherry and Brandy in.
And Rum - I forgot the Rum.

**** Store cupboard challenge (lots of people post lists here, like you have on GC, and peeps come up with great ideas) **** BEST BET here!
Meal plans (a new one starts every week- there is 1 coming soon I expect as they normally start around now/thur)
Post no 2 on this thread, under the guidelines, has a lovely collection of links.
Not meaning to be cheeky but this is not the best thread to be asking for meal plans on I don't think. Good luck.
As for me not much to report, car needs more done so huge bill looming (its only a 53 plate too), not sure how much GC money we will have so trying to be frugal. Did get a massive bag of baking tatties on special offer (Half norm price), and BOGOF little stars yogs for DS, in the Scottish Coop.
