I thought I'd start a new thread for this. As many of you know I'm off to Aus in a bit and there seems to be some interest in a meet-up (possibly to make sure I am actually leaving).

So if anyone wants to buy me a drink or give me a smack in the face then I'll be in the Market Porter (next to Borough Market/London Bridge) from 3pm in a fortnight, Sunday 9th November.

I'll write MSE on a bit of paper and stick it on the table I'm sitting at. If anyone gets there before me then please do the same. If anyone has top brewery connections then perhaps we can do this MSE style and get 2-for-1 beers or something.

Sorry - won't be able to make this. Hope it goes well in Oz for you.

Don't forget, they have the internet there too, I hear. So you'll be able to watch the whole mess from a distance and comment from it sitting in the sun in a rather more laid back society.

I just got a threatening message from IveGotaBig1 so in the interests of my personal safety (and that of others) I'm going to have to cancel. I'm very sorry for the lack of notice but I cannot afford for anything to happen to me just before leaving the country.

Oh dear! Well, realistically I got in from my club at 5am and am not likely to make a move anytime soon anyway, unless it's back to bed. Sundays are a write-off, I make these plans and then...

If any of the regulars who I know aren't mad and scary (or not in a bad way) want an invite to our Christmas Party, it's on Sunday December 7th, PM me your e-mail and I'll add you when I send out the invite e-mail this week. You can even go to borough market then get a bus to our road.
Hurrah, now I have more thankings than postings, cheers everyone!
  • this is too bad. sorry to hear it.

next time one of us decides on a social meet, perhaps a pm to all?

    regards,

Who the hells 'Ivegotabig1' and what did he say ????....That's such a shame.

I didn't see this thread until today, I am in the Pennines and couldn't travel down although I would have loved to have met you and other people who post here.

Generali, I really really really, envy you going to the sun and starting a new life. It would be great if you posted an on line diary telling us how things go and what's happening over there as well. I hope everything works out brilliantly for you all. Very best of luck. Anne x

You just know with complete certainty that anyone who uses a posting name of IveGotaBig1 hasn't.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

It's a hot date with you and fc123 I think. So just PM her.

Such a shame losers are allowed internet access without a responsible adult overseeing their online activities.

Basic misunderstanding of English verbs. To have, to be.

    I HAVE a big kn0b
    I AM a big kn0b

    We know which it'd be.

Anyway. Send it to the abuse team, the IP will be logged. Might as well give them a bad day as it's an offence to threaten people online.

Pity that Generali, I could not have made it but I wish you all the best for the future.
I remember a few years back finding myself London during Rememberance sunday, it was a great atmosphere in the pubs in central London
