Just read this on Yahoo:
"Iceland, a surprisingly high-profile victim of the global credit crisis, raised interest rates by massive 6 percentage points to 18 percent, taking the opposite tack to most countries fighting the global financial crisis."

can anyone clarify what the below means re the mobile phone. is it just having the ability to set up a payment through a phone if you want to do that if u dont have direct access to a comp because you are away from home for eg.
No - if you want to add a new payment instruction online then IF send you a text message with a code in it as part of the process. You then have to enter that code into the payment instruction screen to confirm the instruction.0 -
first direct offset for me. I wasn't chasing big rates I just hadn't got round to moving my savings as been so busy since moving house in the summer.0

Some banks require a card reader to do the same thing (NatWest/RBS) so this way is far more convenient.0 -

By the way, I should say that you can still set up instructions by phone if you need to.0
