Blimey girl - I needed a sit down just reading your list - Respect:D
I on the other hand enjoyed an M+S dine for a tenner which was lovely and easy!! - plenty of chicken for last night and enough for a couple of freezer sandwich packs. Could do some stock with the carcass but its unlikely:o My friend did loads of veg to go with it and we had the Roast Pots with the deal. Catowen the pots are really nice but you dont get that many.
So the extra hour in bed was nice today particulary as its lovely blue sky and sunny now so maybe summer is here after all:rolleyes:Got up early (for me) to finish off my VAT return which I really need to get in the post today to give my accountant a fighting chance of sorting it out. Thats nearly done now (just having a wee mse break atm:o ) then im off to visit a friend for a long dog walk and sunday lunch:j no cooking today for me today sorry Pen Peng I will try and knit something later to make up for my lack of OS today:o
Jackie - thats one heck of a good shop you did there :T

Hello peeps
It`s freezing here today and i must confess to not being out of my jammies yet even though i was up at 7am, i was looking forward to the extra hour in bed but i still ended up awake from 6  i stayed up last night after w*rk to watch waking the dead and that didn`t finish until one thirty so i thought i`d sleep in but my body clock is really messed up with the shifts.
I`ve spent ages in the kitchen filtering and bottling 2 demi johns of wine and i`m very pleased with it, tasted lovely.
Mioliere - i`ve not made the tea wine yet but i came across the recipe whilst i was sorting out my recipe folder yesterday so i shall be starting that soon.
Snowy - how is Dylan today? ((((HUGS)))) for both of you.
Mr Sunnyday is away until tomorrow night and i`m on the late shift today so i need to get quite a bit organised before i leave, the good thing about the clocks going back is that by the time i`m home from w*rk it will be cheap electricity time so i shal be able to put the wm etc on straight away rather than wait for the meter to switch over.
We are running low on cakes as we ate the last half of the banana cake from the freezer recently so i am planning a bakeathon in the near future, the problem is the freezer is so full of hm made stuff that i`m struggling to get anything else in it so i need to make room for the cakes before i bake them, i`m planning to do a couple of your apple cakes Diva as they are one of our favourites and i am going to try my hand at parkin as i`ve never made it before.
Breakfast was a few mouthfulls of wine from the demi johns
Lunch will be hm soup and dinner will be leftover smokin hot potatoes from yesterday with something else, not sure what to have with them yet as i`m not going to make something just for me so i shall have a poke around.
Thanks for posting the link to the potatoes yesterday Thriftlady, they were gorgeous and we had them with steamed cod fillets and rattatouille YUM!.
I`m off to sort out a few things for later so hopefully i shall catch up with you all tonight.
Sorry to hear that so many peeps have the sunffles so have a ((((HUG))) and i hope that everyone feels better soon.
Have a relaxing Sunday everyone.

Good morning all.
It is freezing cold here and raining, one wash to do later but it looks like the TD will have to go on and then I will have an even bigger pile of ironing to do tonight.
Lunch today will be something on toast and steak and kidney pie with carrots, broccoli and mash for tea.
It's been a pretty naff week here all round, DS1 and I had to have a vsit to the dentist me for a huge abscess and two teeth pulled and him because he's had a baby tooth hanging for a while and it needed pulling. The pain from the abscess was horrendous but fortunately not under the tooth IYSWIM, but it finally burst on Weds. in work (funny now - like something out of a carry on film) but not at the time.
We did a LIDL shop on Friday and I love that place - all the staples plus loads of little treats and it came to less than my standard basic online shop each week. :j
Half the painting is done in the bedroom and I hope the kids let me get on and finish this afternoon. This has dragged on and on but I can see the finish line now and I can't wait to dress it and sleep in there when my bed finally arrives.
Mioliere, good to see you back.:D
Candygirl and DF's baby, Dylan and snowy, Mrs_mix and Pen-Pin, gentle hugs to you all and to anyone else who needs one.
Haribo,:hello:
Betheebee, I hope you have a wonderful day.:D

Oh Glad, how terrible
it`s very lucky that no one was hurt! Good luck with getting it sorted out quickly.
SnowyOwl - i`ve just been thinking about something so i`ve nipped back to the puter. Years ago after one of our old doggies had an operation she was really struggling with going to the loo, i remember something that the vet told us to do and it sounds similar to the raw chicken that Dylan has been eating.
We were told to give her small amounts of raw red meat so we used braising steak raw cut up into small pieces and she had this 3 or 4 times a day in small amounts as well as her normal food.
It did take a few days for it to work as she was basically "empty" and had to wait to fill up again and for her body to get used to it before she started to go again, maybe Dylan needs a little time in the same way.
I hope this is of some use to you.

OMG Glad, what a fright you must have had!! I know you say that there doesn't look like much damage, but even so, your stress levels must be through the roof. I hope it gets sorted asap.
Thanks everyone for your good wishes about Dylan. He is still bright and happy in himself, demanding hugs and cuddles and purring away. However he hasn't had a poop for several days now and the vet said yesterday that his colon is getting full so he desperately needs to empty it. The nerves in his colon seem to be paralysed so he has limited sensation (if any) and also the colon isn't moving the waste matter along. So while he is bright and happy the fact is that he is still very ill. If he doesn't use his litter tray he'll have to have another operation to empty his colon (and that's another £150 or so but money saving has long since flown out the window since Dylan's health has been poor). He desperately needs the medicine I've ordered, and I just hope that the website I used is an honest one. I also have some homeopathic and herbal remedies coming from a vet who practices conventional and complementary medicine together. I don't want Dylan to have another operation, but if doing so gives him another chance then he's going to have it. I'm trying not to think about it too much otherwise I'd go batty - it's a matter of taking it just one day at a time.
I start my new job tomorrow - I could do with a month of wo*k to get Dylan sorted but need to earn money to pay for getting Dylan sorted so there's no question about delaying it.
Sorry for banging on so much about Dylan, it's all I can think about right now. In the meantime the house is in chaos and my bank account is in tatters and I've half a ton of ironing to do.
SunnyDay - thank you for your suggestion about the red raw meat. I'm going out a bit later so will buy some minced beef for Dylan and give him that with the chicken. I'll have to freeze it in portion sized lumps as the wee darling can't eat that much at the moment, but at least I'll have a ready supply of both available.
Bye for now.

update on the tree
the fireman was lovely (sorry Nels he didn't give me time to let you know and get here for a random visit) he gave lots of advice and rang EA himself to ask for someone to come asap, he did reassure me that if it fell further it would miss the house/conservatory which was worrying me, OH is in work and I couldn't get hold of him straight away,
the tree is like a large V with one arm longer than the other and about twice the size of the house, it's on the riverbank over the side fence of the garden, the soil has eroded around the roots and the rootball has slid into the river making the tree fall toward the house, the top of the smaller arm is resting on the roof and I was worried that if it came further the longer arm is aimed at the conservatory,
however they have all assured me that won't happen as if it slips further into river it will slide away from house and at worst damage the guttering and roof tiles,
there is some damage to the fence and deck and that might get worse as they take it down,
the owner of the land/river has also been with his estate manager, they said that they asked for permission to take that tree down 2 yrs ago and EA told them it was a protected tree!!!
he has arranged for it to be removed tomorrow
there is an owl roosts in that tree and its hooting sends me off to sleep most nights
I hope he finds a new home not too far awayI am a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Wales, Small Biz MoneySaving, In My Home (includes DIY) MoneySaving, and Old style MoneySaving boards. Afternoon all,
Busy day here so far, DGS' dog arrived last night so great excitement...DD1, DS1, DDIL1 and DGD2 all here from Cork for the night, big breakfast this morning (Ulick's job), pizza, sausage rolls, wedges and cake at 2.30 and then everybody off to their own houses...lovely and peaceful here.
Dog is very timid, has decided that DD4 is 'her' person so follows her everywhere, or sits in her bedroom to get away from us all...think she will be fine, we can't let her out at present as her other home is not that far away, about 3 miles, so we are afraid that she might take off back there...she's not keen on the lead either, but taking her for small walks often to get her used to it.
Hugs to all in need or want, congratulations to anyone celebrating and thank you all for being my friends
