Good morning everyone,
Planning a lazy day today - i love it when the clocks go back, had an extra hour in bed and was still up at 7!!! Stayed in bed with my laptop until 8, and now watching Match of ther Day(!!??) with DS while i wait for Something for the Weekend to start at 10.
Lunch will be that lovely M&S chicken i got yesterday with their £10 deal - ive never had shop bought roasties before, so will see how they turn out - we are also looking forward to the fudge pudding, although last time i bought a pudding rather than made it myself, you could taste a 'chemically' taste, so will see if M&S are the same. So far ive not found a cake or pudding i prefer to my home cooked, my taste buds are def better since becoming OS!!!!
Dinner will be chicken sandwiches!!!
Nothing else planned at the moment - will prob end up being a PJ day, we have Strictly to watch from last night so thats our afternoon sorted! I do need to do some cleaning upstairs, but as i dont have any work next week (booo) if i dont get it done today, i will have time next week, which i dont normally have.
Snowy - hope Dylan had a good night (and you xx)
((HUGS)) and :hello: to everyone who wants/needs one xxx
Have a lovely day,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning everyone!!!
Rainy here this morning. Good job by DH laid my mum's carpet yesterday, as we had to move all the furniture out, so good job it was dry then! He's done 2 rooms now, so just hall, stairs and landing to do!
I did do some OS baking, but took the cake over to mum, so I shall have to do some for myself today!
Just taken some casserole lamb out the freezer cos you can cook that from frozen - as I forgot to take the chicken out for dinner today!:rotfl:
Kids were awake at 6 instead of 7 this morning! just saw DS1 who got up for footy but didnt put his clock back after being out on the razz, so has gone back to bed for an hour!:rotfl:
MIL has got flu, she doesnt have the flu jab since a few years back when she reacted badly to it.:o
(Hugs)) to everyone not feeling well xx
Enjoy your sunday all x0 -
Morning folks,
Taplady - those books look lovely, must look into them further
LTS - I am struggling with Not Buying it atm. She quotes a lot of 'consumer psychology' research that I have never read...it is set out like a diary, and I thought it would be more 'I really really wanted a chickenburger today but ate the ham sandwich I had with me instead'. It is interesting though, she seems to be learning a lot about herself and American culture
MSD - Thankyou for the recommendation for Buckfast, when I drive past it I always think I must go there
Mrs Mix - My cold has also arrived at my chest now and will sit there for a good few weeks Hope you feel better soon
I like the idea of the yankee freshener in the bathroom (can't remember who said it), think I will have to go and buy some now!
Me and Mum had a lovely day yesterday - met her son (it was weird), went into Tavistock for a bit - she bought me 2 hot water bottles- then came home and made apple, date and walnut chutney, 2 cottage pies and a lemon drizzle cake.
Today, Mum wants to go to the carboots but the weather is strange - not good enough to go, but not bad enough to not go ifkwim. Maybe go to Hatherleigh at 1.
Breakfast: Boiled egg, fruit loaf
Lunch: Sandwiches
Dinner; Cottage pieWe must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Morning all
WM,TD and DW on as we are off on holiday tomorrow to Butlitz at minehead :j so no cooking for a week need to pop to the shops for some milk and lemonade as we usually take our big refillables and refil them ourselves in the eve to save a few pence also why do they never provide a bath mat
Its raining here so as i spent the day cleaning yesterday the house is looking lovely OH and DD2 and DS1 will be home later from scout camp so more washing. Brekkie for me and DD1 is YS croissants from the freezer and left over chinese for lunch tea will be tinned goods:D
Glad it all went well for you and your family Candy
Stef congratulations to your DD
Pen Pen our school was obviously more OS as they used test tubes for demonstration purposes:rotfl:
Have a good day0 -
Hi Chums had a bargain day yesterday, bought a whole salmon for £13.46 and the chap in Sainsburys filleted it for me so now have 14 portions of fresh salmon in my freezer for the next few weeks, I paid for it with my nectar points so it cost me nothing .I also spent £1.89 as one of the special offers were Yorkshire Tea Bags at double the amount for that price I usually pay around £1.80 for 80 tea bags.So came home feeling very pleased with my shopping .I didn't even use my car, I went by bus and took my wally trolley with me
A Saturday afternoon mooch round Sainsburys cost me £1.89, can't be bad I have known me to go mad in there on a Saturday, but not anymore.Am saving my cash for next years holidays .Its very wet'n'windy here in North Kent so I'm glad I got my washing done and dried yesterday Must iron it this morning whilst listening to the Archers as usual. My eldest DD is coming for coffee mid morning so I'd better make sure there is some cake available for her. Off to dinner tonight at my youngest DDs.She is working today but will finesh early at 4.00.p.m. as she works as a tour guide at the Dockyard and Winter finishing times start today. Just off to have some breakfast ,hope everyone has a good sunday and <<hugs to those who are feeling low >>
Cheers JackieOxx0 -
Gawd, is it only 9 o'clock? It feels like coffee time.
Raining here too. OH is going to take the kids swimming but that won't be for ages yet because of the extra hour.
Smokin' potatoes last night were not a great success. My fault not the recipe's. I didn't let them cook long enough, some were OK others a bit hard.
The bean stew I made to go with them burnt because it was simmering on the hob and not in the oven owing to the need for the potatoes to be at a high temperature:rolleyes: so all in all not a supper to remember.
Today we're having roast chicken. I was going to serve it with baked spuds and salad, but it definitely feels like a roast potatoes and gravy day. Not sure whether to have it at lunch time or supper time. Will make a proper pudding with cream, probably crumble. Have decided to limit 'proper puds' to Sundays only.
Will probably have leftover soup and cheese on toast for the other meal.
Looking forward to the new Dickens adaptation tonight- Little Dorrit. Finally something good on telly to go with Strictly come Dancing of course.0 -

Having a peaceful one today, will have m&s £10 dinner tonight.
Meant to be at football soon but that may well be cancelled - it hasnt stopped raining.
Love today, you seem to notice the extra all day.

Morning all!
wet here so no carbooting. We picked up our singer sewing machine table last night and is great(for a tenner - cost the seller £75:money: ) we have turned it into a PC table in the lounge.
Going to make somne butternut squash and sweet potato soup for lunch today to go with some mini cheesy rolls fom the freezer, Dinner will be roast beef for the men and a butternut and cranberry roast for me with Hm cauli and broccoli cheese.
Boys still in bed plus a friend of theirs who is sleeping over, was nice to get the extra hour in bed this morning.
Got loads to do today - apple stewing, planning my Extend routine and doing some revision plus I want to go through my wardrobe and declutter the stuff I dont wear.
Catowen -:hello:
Mrs_Mix - hope you soon shift the cold x
(((hugs))) to snowy x
hope you all have a nice Sunday
Take care xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Well after rain and wind yesterday I am pleased there is that strange yellow blob back in the sky today
Roast lamb for tea today, I agree that it is a roast potato kind of day I will do late brekkie/early lunch bacon butties for a treat when DS emerges too.
I'm a bit annoyed as I wanted to make the gingerbread from Nigella's christmas book but can't find any black treacle in the cupboard. Harumph! It's not stocked in the local Co-Op either. I don't know whether I want to go further afield today
Hugs for all, I hope you all have a smashing Sunday0 -
Morning everyone :hello:
Hope last night was full of lovely memories of your Dad Candy. xxx
How is Dylan this morning Snowy?
Congrats to your DD Stef. I know you're in two minds about it but you will love being a Nana again. :T Hope DD feels better soon.
Enjoy your holiday tommorrow Tired Mum.
Nice to see you on the Daily Glad.
By the way... Has anyone seen Sybil lately?
I've been chasing my tail a bit since getting back on Thursday but I think I have just about caught it.
Spent a whole day in the kitchen yesterday making; 2 loaves of wheaten bread, 1 loaf of granary, 12 apple and cinnamon muffins, 12 lemon muffins, some chocolate traybakes, smoked mackeral pate, 2 batches of yoghurt and scotch pancakes. Also did lovely sausage and mash with onion gravy for tea last night which we ate in front of the fire while watching Strictly.
Today is the 4th day of rain/hail and high winds so we won't be venturing out today. Snow is forecast for Tuesday. :snow_grin I'll light the fire shortly I think and maybe stay in my jammies a wee while longer. Poor cat is going stir crazy and I must remember that I have taped up the cat flap as it was letting in the gales.
Planning to make some cards this afternoon and prepare dauphinoise potatoes to go with tonight's roast lamb. Other than that there is the usual washing, ironing and swishing to be done.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone.
Haribo x0
