if you don't want to splash out on a 500ml bottle (don't forget, there is a chance you may not like the flavour you choose). You can go for a compromise. There is a UK vendor that sells 50ml bottles for £10.70 & an excellent Chinese seller that sells 115ml bottles for £11.89.
I used to be a very heavy smoker of ready mades, so I've saved a fortune since I started vaping.0 -
Hi Socks
I think your husband could join the aaec forum as a vendor?
Great to hear he has not only given up the smokes but decided to sell e-cigs0 -
Yeah I think e-cigs are the thing to be selling right now if you're selling something. Even I am getting one and I am very poor.
Its amazing you can go from £113 a week to £10 a week, how many ml per day do you go through? I estimate a 20 a day smoker to use about 4ml a day at the most.
Poll I saw said 2.0ml to 3.5ml a day for most votes.
I aim to get my current £72 a month roll up bill down to £15 or £20 a month with the e-cig. Saving £50 a month / £12.50 a week would be amazing.
Of course you also do get your lungs back in the process lets not forget0 -
I have not had 620 cigs since I started vaping, It is my lst months anniversary, think I broke about even with all the kit and liquids I have bought but hey, my health has improved my Dr approves so I am on a winner, vaping is heavenly and more relaxing than a cigs knowing you are not inhaling the nasties cigs have in them.
The price the cigs are now, I could not afford to smoke, thank god for vaping and the help you get on AAEC boards.
Retail shopping in order methinks.:rotfl:You live..You learn.:)0 -

I have seen people say they have 1ml a day and some say 10ml a day. The most common answer is about 2.0ml to 3.5ml per day.
I have seen a bulk bottle of 500ml (36mg) for £59.99
Its normally about £12.99 for 30ml.
So worst case scenario lets say you vape 4ml a day of that stuff (hey, its strong, most people use 24mg stuff) that means 125 days worth and a cost of 48 pence per day. That is if you shelled out £60 for a 500ml bottle. Still only half a litre folks I mean the bottle itself isn't going to be cumbersome but I would leave it in the house at all times.
Now lets work that out if you spend £13 on a 30ml bottle... that means 1 bottle lasts 7.5 days and it would cost you £1.73 a day.
Massive difference there, one is 48p per day and one is £1.73 per day.
Thats £14.88 a month compared to £53.63 a month, all because you got the 500ml in bulk and not the 30ml bottle. When you buy a small bottle like 30ml you're paying for the fact that it had to be packaged in its own little bottle, it seems stupid to keep buying those.
I am here for one reason only - to save money! I know there are health benefits to e-cigs but this isn't a quit smoking forum it is a money saving forum
I know there will be health benefits but those are added bonuses.
In theory if you have 4ml a day then its 125ml a month and works out a 500ml bottle would last about 4 months. Roll ups in that time would be costing me £289.20
So the potential saving is £289.20 take away £60.00 = about £230 every 4 months or £57.50 a month!
So to make this simple.... assuming I got the 500ml bottle...
Smoking analogs - £72.30 a month
Vaping e-liquid - £14.88 a month
SAVING - £57.42
Vaping would be costing 20.6% of what smoking cost.
Smoking would cost 4.86 times more money.
I think I now know what I need to do and what I need to buy.
I have tried the chewing gum, the lozenges, the inhalers and the patches, all are completely useless for their own reasons but the e-cig always gets comments like "I can't even tell the difference" and that intrigues me enough but to find out its cheaper as well and there are even 500ml bottles BEING SOLD somewhere is a blessing for a money saver.
Right this is my two pennyworth - take it or leave it....
Get a big 52mg bottle from the chappie in Norfolk (he's on the friendly forum)...depending on the strength you wish to vape this should last a few months. (in fact I got my last bottle in february and still have about 1/4 left and I gave 40ml away to a friend @ 36mg/ml strength) and some dilutant (various - the guy in norfolk sells it pretty cheap)....this will cost you no more than £50-60 and should last a good few months plus flavourings (you need a few - pennies on the group buy)...
Get syringes for measuring and use an e-liquid calculator (see the forum)(various places you can get syringes. I have loads of sizes from 20ml downwards .....just google needles and syringes...you'll find somewhere) which can be put down as hardware. As can also your medicine bottles to carry your e-liquid around with you...
(chemist)
then mix self.....
Apart from hardware (bottles and syringes) the liquid, dilutant and flavourings should cost no more than £60 and depending on strenght of what you are vaping should last anywhere from 2.5 months min to a good few months....
Cheap as chips :money:
the question is why are you not vaping?

PS. My roll up bill was £50 a week....LOL:dance:

52mg... this should last a few months.
If so that would be huge saving. Its about 1ml a day or something.the question is why are you not vaping?
never had any faith in it, thought it was a gimmick so never read into them. Stupid, I know.PS. My roll up bill was £50 a week....LOL
That is like 5 full packets a week! You must be joking? I get about 35 roll ups from 12.5g so 140 from a full pack and you had 5 a week means you smoked 100 roll ups a day?!
Well there are people smoking 100 a day but very few people can even take that without being sick. Even I can't just chain smoke although lately that is what I am becoming.
Everyone starts off on about 2 a day and it can work up to any amount. The world record I heard was 120 a day for some Albanian Prince guy.
I have ordered one anyway, the new tank one and it was £40 so it had better work! Got that one because it has the new design, a USB cable, powerful batteries (6 hours of smoking per charge apparently) and you get a free bottle of 30ml liquid with it so it is all ready to use.
I am going to try that bottle (same strength and flavour as the 500ml one) and see how long that 30ml lasts.
I can't imagine how much better my lungs should be, I mean I do ride my bike a lot but even that isn't beneficial at all because I smoke, I can d more than a year ago because of the biking but I still can tell I am way off the mark due to smoking (for 22 years - I am only aged 35).
If I smoke until I am 40 at this rate I will definitely have something seriously wrong by then I think, you know when its happening you can just tell.
I also got a vaporizer for something else as well if you know what I mean... so soon I will not be smoking anything at all, I have a vape for my *ahem* and an e-cig.
Its the convenience of it as well, I can go on bike rides and have the e-cig and not worry about the tar (for some reason I crave a cig even more on a bike ride, people say go on a bike for a few hours, get out of the house, its no use I still smoke just as many outdoors as indoors)0 -
Hope you like your new kit
If you do have any problems with it, pop across to the aaec forum and someone will help0 -
Hope you enjoy your new kit GotNoMoney . . . as Karma says, any questions then pop onto the forum and we'll do our best to help you.
Don't forget that any Tobacco juice flavours you get, will be a representation of a ciggy flavour, as opposed to a true cigarette taste . . . although I never ' tasted ' the 40/50 a day I smoked, just shovelled them down.
I'm also a DIY mixer, it's something I found I enjoy, it works out cheaper again and I can ' custom make ' my eliquid to suit my personal preferences.0 -
GotNoMoney, please let us know how you get on
Would be lovely to see updates from everyone else that's tried e-cigs due to this thread0
