I gave my other friend the cig-a-like that I got hoping DH would have a shot - she's back to the cigs because of that story from america!
People like your friend, won't look into the hows and whys, just the headlines. It's not an e-cig only problem, but when peoples lives are at risk....
This is not something that the nay sayers think about and they bloody well should
I can confidently say that I will never go back to analogues as long as e-cigs are available in the way we have them today. If legislation comes in and we are stuck with one make and one "flavour", I'm not sure I could stick with it. I hope that doesn't happen, but never say never.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
I hope not too!0

Hopefully this is in the right place...
Just wanted to highlight Electronic Cigarettes as i've recently switched and am seriously impressed with them. As a committed, 20yr smoker i thought i was past saving but along came these things and, overnight, I've gone from smoking 20-30 fags a day to none.
If you're not sure how they work, that makes two of us! Suffice to say they contain Nicotine and they produce "smoke" (which is actually some kind of harmless water vapor) there are no fumes whatsoever and I've found the taste to be slightly better than a std fag, which I'm amazed about.
In terms of health, the benefits are obvious. By cutting out the carrier (Tobacco) you cut out all of the harmful chemicals and carcinogens, you cut out the tar and your health improves but in terms of money, and this is the kicker for this board... you save THOUSANDS!
Let's say I smoked 20 cigarettes per day, every day, that's a total spend of £2190.00pa excluding any additional items bought whilst in the shop (Newspaper, Scratchcard, Chocolate etc) - and now compare that to the Electronic Cigarettes... the brand i'm using (I won't name them as I'm not a salesmen for them) cost £8.99 for the equivalent of 200 Cigarettes, that equates to an annual spend of around £215.00 - close to £2000 of savings, plus you don't die, which is nice!
There are lots of different brands out there and i'd urge anyone considering them to give them a go.
A final footnote... apparently you can 'smoke' these things indoors, personally I won't be doing that as I see no need to be antagonistic. People not in the know won't know they're not real and could easily get the hump if they see you 'lighting up' - i also find it suits me to stick to my own routine of never smoking in the house or car. Anyhoo, each to their own, just thought i'd highlight these, if you're on the fence, give them a go, they're brilliant!0 -
If you've only got one, maybe invest in another. The batteries don't last too well. First couple of weeks they are great, then they start to die.4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

So was pleased I never for a second considered I wished I was them smoking, but I better becareful I don't become on of those busybodies trying to convert every smoker, although in future I will keep some info I typed up for hubby to give smokers in work ( ones I hasten to ask he told about me and they asked for the info) so if I did happen in future to get chatting to a smoker I can give this to them, but I will not initiate a conversation with them and I rarely use my e-cig outside so unlikely, but you never know.
I have business cards (if you can call them that) with the aaec forum on the back i printed off. Easy enough to do. Just get the info from the cam-vip website. Or else vendor cards are as good.
Finally after getting the PG off that 'I dinnae spek Anglish' guy off ebay I'm now able to stealth vape. Will get some more :T...
Anyhow sleeping better.Just applied for a new girlie shop that's opening in town for a job. Just emailed them my CV. Hope I get it.
I had like about 3 months or so before I could comfortably sit with a smoker in their own house and not want a cig. Now it's fine. But outside...naw...
Still on the 22mg/ml - happy now - taste has worn off so it's fine.. bring on the next 2mg/ml reduction in 2 weeks time :A
Well done FaraSo proud of you. Bet you never thought you could do it. Are you 100% e-cig or combo of e-cig and patch? Just wondered.....
Anyhow best go

It also depends what "route" you go down regarding E-Cigs. I've tried the ones available in UK stores, like tescos etc, and not been overly impressed with those, along side the fact they are also expensive, and are really unfriendly to the environment for the "disposable ones" (you end up throwing away the battery each time essentially) I know the same brand of those offer a rechargeable one, but they still cost more than going down the route of what would be termed a "proper" set up.
With those, you can get various battery strengths (equating to length of time used) PCP's (portable charging packs), flavoured carts (chocolate, mint, menthol, apple, tobacco, watermelon, cappuccino, for small example), refillable carts (cartomisers) (the bit that gives you the nicotine hit), different strength nicotine hits (down to zero for those giving up being addicted to the nicotine), erm and prolly other things that I can't think of right now!
Going down a proper system, and refilling yourself you can actually save quite a lot compared with the disposable ones you buy in the shop. Search "uk vapers" on likes of google if you're interested in opinions in those types.0 -
