Been smoking for roughly 13 years and after numerous failed attempts of quitting i'm going to get myself an e-cig.

Anyone recommend any deals that are on atm? Was looking at sky cig but they are £50 for a starter kit.

    Thanks
  • I'm no expert and have only been cig free for 15 days now but I paid way over the odds for a kit £65.You just need a basic ego kit preferably with two batteries so you can charge one while still vaping. An ego c4 kit should cost you about £20-25 for everything you need from a UK seller.Theres lots of bargains on ebay if you type in shisha instead of e cig too and don't forget your e juice :).Theres loads of really helpful friendly folks on here with better knowledge and if you look back a few pages theres a link to the e cig smokers forums which gives you a list of vendors.I have to say its the easiest and best thing I've ever done :) good luck :j
  • Oh and the e juice come's in mg's of nicotine so get the strength depending on what you smoke.I was a 25/30 a day smoker for 20 something years and have gone for 18mg nicotine which seems to be doing the job no cravings at all.I will reduce the nicotine in a month or so but for now I'm just happy not to be smoking.....and order a few flavours of the liquid as it's weird but I loved ciggies but hate the tobacco flavour liquids???in fact I really like the banana liquid even though I'm not that keen on bananas??the company LTvapes seems good value and I'm waiting on an order of the juices but just shop around on the e cig forum if your a bit mse :money:

Decided im going to go with one of those rather than the ecigs that are shaped like a normal cigarette.

Other half is also quitting and is looking for one that comes in a different colour to black lol.

Just need to find best deals on them and the "juice"

I've saw a few folk with those but not sure if i'd like them compared to the ones that are more shaped like an actual cigarette.
Well, you could start with the smaller bodies ones that are basically a fag-sized battery and cartomizer, but they don't retain a charge for all that long. That's all I started with and a pair of them lasted all day. You have to keep on top of charging them up though.
If you stick to the fag-a-likes, you'll pay through the nose in the long run and you'll soon see the advantages of going down the refillable route.
Before you know it, you'll be wanting bigger and better and you won't think anything of whipping out your giant thing in public.
  • If you choose a refillable e cig you can buy the e juice in many flavours of tobacco and many strengths of nicotine including 0%.The e cig that looks more like an actual cigarette has little cartridges with the liquid in that you can buy prefilled or empty to fill your self.I personally didn't find it any good no throat hit like a real ciggie. The bigger ego sort of e cig gives you more of a "smoking"hit in my opinion.Read back through the thread and theres a link to the e cig forums which will give you loads of info on makes models and suppliers.good luck :)

Going to go for the Ego ce4 :)

Best i've found is £28 for the starter kit. This seem good? Just need to find best place for juice.

Any other recommendations or would you say the ce4 is ideal?
  • These are the best things I've found for starter kits. £7 each with flat rate of £1.50 P&P, whatever you buy. Get 2 of these and some juice, and you're sorted.

They sell juice at this site too, or get cheaper juices here:

I smoked 20-ish a day and find 18mg nicotine is perfect.

I am looking at switching to electronic ones too. I want something tasting/smelling close to the real one. Are there any tobacco flavored electronic cigarettes that dont have nicotine in them?

Trust me, everyone who is thinking about quitting real fags with e-cigs THINKS they want the same taste & smell. After about 2 days you realise you actually don't LOL. Nicotine is NOT the baddy in cigs. In fact, it's one of the least harmful chemicals - it's just what keeps you addicted. Smoking an e-cig is about as harmful as drinking caffeinated coffee. Just quitting nicotine will be hard. I'd strongly advise getting juice with nicotine in, but gradually reducing it if you want to get to zero-nicotine vaping. Most suppliers sell zero nicotine juice and I think shisha sticks are zero nicotine. But if you're quitting fags, definitely do it gradually.

Totally agree with this I tried the tobacco flavour and hated it and 18mg is fine for me 25/30 a day smoker before. One hurdle at a time for me breaking the smoking habit first then later on will reduce the nicotine slowly don't set yourself up for failure by cutting everything at once.Smoking is my habit,Nicotine is an addiction break the habit then work on the addiction when your ready. The patches, gum and other aids all contain nicotine anyway so in my opinion my e cig is no worse than these and it helps with the habit of holding and inhaling a ciggie which none of the smoking aids did for me.
