I had problems with chargers as well, two identical ones that came with my e-cig blister packs (initially OK, then they were taking ages to charge, 24hrs or so and getting worse).

Didn't bother contacting the vendor because their warranty states dead on arrival or something to that effect. Got myself a new charger from fasttech, very cheap and works a treat.
Now I simply don't buy from sites that don't offer a full warranty and dsr rights.

Is vaping all about wanting to quit? If someone is still vaping after 12 months then surely it's a replacement for smoking tobacco rather than quitting.

For me it was about wanting to quit regular cigarettes, but I don't mind if I stay using the electronic one. I think it's harmless enough (seems to me that the effects of nicotine are comparative to caffeine), it doesn't smell, it's cheap and it's just as enjoyable as the regular ones. So, I figure I might as well enjoy it.
  • Just a quick update. I've been ciggie-free for about 3 months now and my OH is just a week behind me. We love vaping!! Anyone looking for a good starter kit should check out Paradise Vape - they've got the £7 ego blister packs back in stock. Two of those and a couple of bottles of liquid and you're all set to go. I've now converted about 4 people at work by recommending those blister packs to them. So cheap, you can't go wrong. Can't even buy 20 cigs for £7 these days!

I honestly don't care if I carry on vaping forever. We use 18mg nicotine juice and might reduce it but not in any hurry. Vaping is about as harmful as drinking caffeinated coffee so I can live with that LOL.

    Evening :)

I was wondering if anyone can tell me if a battery could affect the taste of the oils?

Me and my brother both ordered the same kit. Halo something or other, he got the pack with extra battery but otherwise the same. He had bubblegum flavour and I had blueberry. His oil tasted really nice. He since bought some double flavour oil which is reeeeally nice. I bought the same and honestly it tastes nothing like his :(

So far I've tried blueberry, tutti frutti, bubble gum and just got some double strawberry and double menthol berry.

I'm starting to get a bit disheartened right now with it and honestly have just lit a real cig :o

Yesterday when I tried the double strawberry I put it in a top that I had drained overnight (are they called cartomisers?) this morning I tried it in a brand new one and no different. Is it the battery?

Any advice at all would be really great, I don't want to smoke ciggies and can't believe the same oil can taste so different :(

In reply to my own question, just trien another brand new top... filled it well over the level and it is working fine.

Oh yes. I had the morning cough, fuzzy tongue and a crop of big spots on my face - all that has happened every time I've tried to quit cigs before, it is your body clearing out the toxins. The AAEC people recommended drinking loads of water to flush it through quicker, and it's a good idea to drink extra water in this heat anyway.

Plus a lot of people find in their first few days of vaping that inhaling it makes them cough, seems it is because it's a new thing your lungs aren't used to, in just the same way as your first few cigs made you cough. And it is a bit of a different way of puffing on it. I find I don't draw on it as hard as the taste of the flavoured vape in my mouth is so pleasant, I end up taking less into my lungs. And different flavours need to hit different areas of your tongue to taste them to the best effect. It's a learning curve, but a fun one! :rotfl:

I haven't tried an Ego T, but I use an Ego CE5 and it is a decent, easy to use starter kit.

It's well worth signing up to All About E-Cigarettes forum. They are a nice bunch, really knowledgeable about what is worth buying and what's a waste of money, and will help you through all your teething troubles.

I'd say the cheapest e-juice is from fasttech (from China, the Chinese invented e-cig). In Europe this is also cheap:
http://ebnferro.com/e-vloeistoffen?limit=60 (Hangsen is the same Chinese brand, but you'd get it more quickly than from fasttech).

It's also much cheaper if you make your own, you can buy the nicotine base separately and add the flavours you like, either single flavour, or you can follow some of the great recipes on the e-cig forums.
AAEC (and other forums) have a section on 'mixology' that will give you all the information you need. The easiest way to start is to buy a starter kit from a reliable webstore and then get cheaper supplies from Boots/Ebay.
HANDLE CONCENTRATE NICOTINE BASE WITH CARE, IT'S A POISON.
