I've done my best to trawl through the posts here, and also looked on the suggested other forum, but I think I have hit information overload.
I wondered if anyone had any simple advice or links to a product that would suit me...
I just want a decent e-cig that I dont need to guddle about with, filling up things, and footering, just something I can put together, and use, and that tastes like real ciggys, not chocolate or snoozeberries.
Thanks in advance
Well, I'm sure there's no single best option and tastes vary. But, if you want some simple advice, I can say from trying a few types over the past few years, that V2 cigs are a good one to try as they're technically very functional. I like mine a lot, it has been very reliable, easy to use (it's no fuss to get it working), durable and makes plenty of vapor. Taste of course is still a matter of taste. However, as I own a few types now I've loaned them out to smokers I know and V2 is generally the one people like most.
One thing about flavour however, I've not found anything that replicates the cigarette taste of any brand I've ever smoked. While the V2 feels just like smoking it doesn't taste the same. Fortunately, I like several of the flavours, so it's not a problem. In fact, real cigarettes, even my once favourite dunhills, taste really bad now. So, I wouldn't set out to find one that tastes like a cigarette as I don't think you'll find one, but look for one with flavours you enjoy. You may find the taste difference stops being an issue in the longer term, as that has been my experience and other people I know say the same thing after a few months.0 -
Saw a article in a paper yesterday about the EU making decisions to regulate these cigs, i think its just a excuse to put a tax on them.Owed out = lots. :cool:0

I got a freebie NJOY last week, one of the disposable gizmos. It is supposed to be equivalent to 40 cigs and I got 4.5 days use out of it and didn't miss the ciggies at all when I was using it.
I've looked at this thread from time to time and thought about trying e-cigs but thought it's quite a lot to spend if it doesn't work. Then again my baccy costs about £10 a week so what's to lose?
I've ordered a reusable e-cig today. It's a £10 one from e-bay, it's marketed as a shisha kit but does the same job. It's got a 900mah battery so should do me for what I use it for. I also got some liquids from LT e-cigs, they have loads of flavours and strengths in 5ml bottles. Mine were vanilla, liquorice, bubblegum and spearmint. I've had vanilla cigs before and really liked them so I hope vape is as good.
Right now I am using a Nicolites that I picked up at the local chemist. It's £7 for a 40-cigs version and is doing the job ok. But I can't wait to get my reusable and be able to play with flavour and strength.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0 -
My reusable arrived on Tuesday. I'm enjoying it. Takes about half-an-hour to charge up and seems to hold its charge well.
It came with a 10ml bottle of liquid, it tastes like Juicy Fruit gum but unfortunately it is the no-nicotine type... however I'm not getting bad cravings for cigs, a couple of rollies a day are enough and the rest of the time vaping is doing the job.
It's been like that though every time I've tried to quit fags. I don't seem to be that addicted to the nicotine, it's the sensation of smoking and the ritual of wandering outside for a cig when I want 5 minutes to relax, marking the end of one job and the start of the next, that is what is near impossible for me to stop doing.
I haven't had the ravenous hunger that normally comes with stopping smoking so maybe this time I'll do it without the weight gain. That'd be nice. Even though it's safer to be a stone overweight in the short term than it is to be a long term smoker, I'd still rather have neither.
I'm coughing quite a bit though and getting a clarty throat sensation. I've no idea if it's part of my lungs clearing themselves or if it is this e-liquid irritating me, as it has no throat-hit but makes vast clouds of 'smoke'.
I'm using my fake fag outside and I'm a tad paranoid that I look silly, but then again doesn't smoking a real one look silly too? I haven't seen anyone taking much notice of what I'm up to, and once I'm used to my e-cig I won't think twice about it.Public appearances now involve clothing. Sorry, it's part of my bail conditions.0 -
Finally took the plunge and bought an e cig its the EGO CE4+ starter kit then I got myself 3 bottles of oils Ive ordered a spare 1100 battery as the 1 that came with the e cig doesn't last very long , spare cartomiser and usb wall charger! Had my last cig on sunday night really hoping I'll be able to stop smoking completely after over 40 years of puffing away! I decided to buy the e cig as I know quite a lot of smokers who have been able to give the cigs up after using one so hoping they will work for me, have tried patches in the past but they didn't work for me
Must admit I have had a few cravings but they've only lasted a few seconds so I had a quick puff on my e cig and was fine, going to take it 1 day at a time!

There's 74 pages of people talking about e-cigarettes, different types etc, I suspect some of them might have actually used them0
