According to other people, cigarette look-alikes are not as good as the other kits (cannot comment myself as I've only tried mine, just wanted to pass the feedback on)0 -
I just have one comment on the "freebie". The refill cartomisers you would have to buy to keep using this system are VERY expensive compared to other cartomisers or liquids! I think this giveaway, although appearing very generous, is so you get the kit and have to keep buying their expensive refills. A bit of a loss-leader for them!!
My only experience of a "lookalike" e-cig was the e-lite you can buy in supermarkets and corner shops. It wasn't very good. I couldn't get a good drag off it at all. I didn't feel like it was a good enough replacement for me not to miss real ciggies. I have a friend who still uses them (gave him mine!) and he still looks wistfully with envy at people smoking real ciggies. That is no way to live as far as I am concerned. I honestly feel that I've switched to something better.DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Okay after spending most of the day doing a bit of research, I'm thinking of something like this (Not necessarily from this store as I haven't shopped around yet):
http://www.ecigzoo.com/73-lavatube-mini-v4-kit.html#/colour-gun_metal
I know some people advise starting with the cheap ones, but most people seem to get the more "advanced" ones a few weeks later, so it seems a bit silly to waste £20-£30 on one of the cheap kits. Is something like that kit a good idea, or is there anything I should know?0 -

I don't know enough about them to comment on the one you've put here, but if you go on the forum karmacookie suggested, here

there are lots of people who know everything you need to know and will definitely tell you if you're getting the best for your money!! There is one guy in particular, called Robby, who totally knows his stuff and will definitely recommend the best thing for whatever money you have to spend. They also have all the discount codes there, so you'll get the best price. One thing to bear in mind is that Robby often recommends stuff from a US site which is very cheap but can take a little longer to arrive.
I am just trying the £7 ego vaper that terra-ferma posted a link to and it's great. Filled up with delicious "razzytwist" from LT e-cigs (cheapest liquids I've found, with discount code LT10 for 10% off).DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

Be very careful if you go for this deal to uncheck the box that signs you up for a monthly subscription.
Really, this deal is best avoided!0 -

there are so many other deals out there you really would be better signing up to an e-cig forum!
I understand what you're saying about people wanting to upgrade, but to dip your toe into the water, this is a really good deal

I've just ordered the green smoke ecig. Just because it seemed to be rated highly. I do get confused though, there's so much jargon!0

Oh samantha, I wish you had come along to AAE-C first before ordering -

The Greensmoke e-cig is over priced & under performsIt's only highly rated by those selling them.

The only thing you may find a pain with greensmoke is that apparently the cartomisers (the bit with the flavour/nicotine in) is an E9 connecting thread, whereas most cartos are 510 threads. I believe (but please someone say if I'm wrong!) that you can only use greensmoke cartos with the batteries, rather than shop around for cheaper cartos. Having said that, you may well be able to refill the cartos with regular liquid. Let us know how you get on with it. I only know one person who has stuck with a ciggie look-a-like (and still really misses real cigs, which is a shame).DMP Mutual Support Thread member 244

That's where I found the deal I mentioned earlier, it's a good forum, great advice on there.
I'd say there are 3 forums I keep bumping into:
http://www.planetofthevapes.co.uk/
http://ukvapers.org/
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/forum.php (usa based, with a uk sub-forum - great for reviews)
Personally I would recommend familiarising yourself with more than one forum, because I read that some are run by vendors or people close to them and may be biased.
The advice on the actual devices tends to be good, and there are a lot of video reviews on you tube as well. I would say once you found a device with good reviews, check the various forums for the best deal.
Other bit of advice, don't buy from a website unless you see good feedback on at least two e-cig forums, and check that the vendor has legal t&c. (worth noting that some items maybe are exempted from full drs, like items that have a short life span of a week or less, meaning that you cannot return them if you change your mind, but anything else should be covered. )0
