No I didn't. I'm an ex-smoker (gave up over 7 years ago) but I would definitely have considered using one of those when I was quitting (if they'd been around then).

Wow that is really good:beer: Something we can all hope for

I and others have said before, they may not work for everyone but they definately worked for me:) Inching towards the 4 month mark now:)

Hows the weaning off them going?

I was considering trying e-fags... I currently smoke roll-ups. But after seeing a lady at work smoking easily 7x the amount she would a normal day by using one, and then spending more cash on them then fags, I can't help but wonder, whats the point?

I think there are 2 main reasons for people to stop using tobacco and start using e-cigs.
I am presuming that you want to give up and have tried lots of times to stop.

    1. Better health.
This is open to all types of degree of manipulation. I rarely try to convince anyone that e-cigs are better than tobacco cigarettes, as I've said before, the info is out there all over the net, spend a week and make your own decisions.
But, an awful lot of people believe they are better, I happen to be one of them. If you can't find an answer to a question, I , or others on here, will try to answer it.

    2. Cost.
It doesn't take a genius to work out if you are spending £7.40 a day on fags, most other things will be cheaper, e-cigs are no different, yes your up front costs will be slightly more and yes you may want to buy other stuff in the first few months that cost more than you think at the beginning. And of course there are shiny things out there, that once you start, you may want to buy.

However, if you smoke roll ups, then the sums are different and I have to refer you to answer No 1. So, no you may not save money, but you may just save something that money just can't buy.

Your choice, people who post on and view this thread are always around to answer any questions or worries you may have, to the best of our abilities.

My intial outlay was over 5 weeks from mid - jan and I spent a total of £180 and now we are almost in mid-april and I have not laid out another penny since. I bought at first lookalikes and they work out about the same as real cigs but then bought a couple of e-cigs that don't look like real ones and take liquid and am still using both them and the stock of liquid. I reckon at the rate I am using it have enough for about another 2 -3 months, not bad considering I would have spent around £650 on real cigs by now. Even to replace the set up I have now would only cost me about £90 ( I would not be buying lookalikes and their cartomisors again) to last me about 6 month. So I am still very happy, yes I still have a nicotine habit, but then so have many people who chew gum, pop the tablets etc but its far less than when I smoked and slowly but surely I am cutting down. Some days I admit I seem to use my e-cig a lot others I hardly touch it and when busy I never have the urge to take an e-cig break as I used to do with real cigs I can happily go all day if I need to without it.

I am still in shock that I no longer smoke, as I only bought lookalikes to try to help me cut down but I found after using it for first time I didn't want another real cig and not had as much as a puff of one since trying the first lookalike on 25th Jan. Its weird actually putting down on forms I am a non-smoker as I admit I still feel myself as a smoker who just happens not to be smoking as after 30 + years of smoking I cannot accept yet I am not one, its been part of me for so long.

So at the beginning yes you will spend money, but no more than on real cigs but after the initial expense you will have to lay out very little unless you keep buying more e-cigs, a habit I have not succumbed to thankfully.

I'm an ex rollie smoker, and I'd be telling lies if I said I was saving money!

I'm feeling more healthy and I don't have a smokes cough every morning!

I;'ve tried every other method of stopping smoking and never made it past 8 weeks. This time I'm nearly at 4 months and I much prefer my choice to vape, can't see me going back to rollies, i enjoy my new found ability to breath without coughing every morning.

I used to smoke on average 50 cigarettes a day & at today's costs, that would be about £122. a week  I now spend about £10.00 a week on vaping. But it's not just financial benefits, far from it, I no longer wake up on a night time gasping for breath, nor when I climb up a steep hill.

I was smoking 50 rollies/day or half an ounce. The cost to me was €35/week. Since I quit them, I've been spending some money on e-fag hardware, but for the past several weeks I've been ahead of the game and only spend around a tenner a week on e-juice now. Occasionally I'll have to replace batteries or atomisers, but averaged out, that still won't make much difference to my weekly spend.
I've been free-running with the amount I consume, letting my natural desire dictate how much I vape, to get a handle on it and get a workable figure. Actually, it's working out I'm putting less nicotine into my system these days than I was before :) I think I'm now vaping the equivalent of 15~20 rollies/day.
My plan is to start reducing the e-juice strength - at the moment I'm using 18mg, next one down is around 12mg, but it's easy to dilute to desired concentration.

ok, i've been a smoker for nearly 30 years, I've been trying to give up with the nicorette gum (again), popped into chemist for something and spotted on the counter a cigarette box containing an E-cigarette. Now, I was intrigued so paid the fiver and took one of the little boxes.
The one I got was called Gamucci I think. Now it was OK,but not quite there ,battery does not last long, taste not great but I thought it had potential and I was fed up of chewing bits of rubber,so I looked on the net, thinking maybe theres something similar but better? I was gobsmacked.
All these things i'd never heard of, RIVAS, EGOS,E-LIQUID!!!!?? and
so many interesting informative forums. By this time I had thrown the gum through the window and was sitting there puffing on a Silk cut silver.

So, I took the plunge and bought a kit compromising Of an EGO-T with clearomisers. Got it on Thursday, and have not had a real fag since. Im not even tempted. Brilliant.

For me I think it is the act of smoking more than a nicotine hit that I miss. Basically I like the throat hit, blowing out the smoke etc.
I threw away nicotine gum 4mg to smoke silk cut 0.1mg, so i think its more habit than nico addiction.

I really enjoy vaping, I dont smell of fags anymore and I am already starting to feel like I can breathe better.
    I think they are brilliant.
I spent about £100 but I should have enough liquid for about 2 months, and i bought quite a few clearomisers from health cabin.
I will save about £210 a month after spending about £20 on liquid.

I have tried EVERYTHING in the past, even Hypnosis and Champix,
I think I have hit the jackpot this time.
I am going to try and cut down over time, and eventually wean myself off them, but if i dont manage it I dont care! I am enjoying it, I am not killing myself with chemicals anymore and I am richer!! LOL
Win win in my books :)
