I reported them to TS the other day for advertising the package as £209 , taking the money and then cancelling. Lokks like Currys could get several knocks from TS.0

If they cant or won't cancel it you still have a 7 day colling off period, distance selling act. Where you can return unopened.
I wonder if they could be had up for misleading price indictaion as it it unclear what Xbox you can get.dimension3 wrote:That is bad news. I wouldn't have ordered this had I known it was a core system!
Has anyone else ordered?0 -
Sorry to repeat myself but ....
I ordered this same deal from Dixons. The CORE system arrived Wednesday - without the games. Been through the argument with customer services etc about price / picture. The situation seems to be (1) Pictures are representations, not the actual product (2) The specification given does not imply Premium console (it's common to both) (3) Although the total cost of all the items separately is less than the 'deal' cost, the offer was for a console at £499 with 'free' games and accessories - if you accept the offer then you have agreed to buy an xbox 360 for £499, Currys / Dixons will also send you the free stuff.
I think the best you're going to get from TS / Watchdog is a slap on the wrist for Dixons / Currys for misrepresentation in the photo.0 -
if you have bought ANY ELECTRICAL PRODUCT FROM A UK SELLER over the internet, you CAN return it within SEVEN DAYS (as mentioned above, its called the 'distant selling act' ) and no reason has to be provided for it sreturn ! (even tho every1 here has a VERY good reason!!!!)
... provided it is in the EXACT same condition as you received it (ie unopened/ sealed).
it was there to promote confidence in consumer buying via the internet and to help prevent traders selling defficient goods. The aargument being that in a high-street shop you can physically see the item, touch, feel it etc, whereas distant buying, you can only physically see the item once you have taken delivery. Thus, it can be returned with no reason provided for its return, and a full refund (-p&p) ahould be recieved (unless of course there is something specific in the T&C, then i do not know whether this act still applies... i would assume it does ??)0 -
Is it possible to keep this thread updated with avalibility updates only? I have been trying to track one down for the last 2 weeks (like many others), often using info from this site, but get frustrated with updates about spec/the law/your rights/what colour van it arived in!! Can this thread be kept for stock updates only pleeeease!0

Also for info, the Distance Selling act stipulates 7 WORKING days, after delivery0

Update on the Currys saga .....
Their package at 499.99 is for the Core system ,even though they show a picture of the full Xbox 360, and describe it as an Xbox 360.
I have disused this with Trading Standards and they are in agreement that this is a breach of the Trades Description Act and the Sale of Goods act.
Currys will not budge, in fact one of there team leaders was quite rude, he got serious dressing down I can tell you!
I have demanded that the supply the goods as advertised., they have refused, I have not and will not cancel my order.
Currys position is that they have done nothing illegal, not a view shared by Trading Standards.
This is being escalated within Trading Standards, but can I urge all of you to phone your local trading standards office and complain about this, the more the better.
See the link for your local office.

I will also be contacting Watchdog.
They will not get away with it!
If you don't like it, do NOT order it. The entitlement mentality always kicks in and you complain to Trading Standards. At the end of the day it's just an XBOX 360. Teach yourself delayed gratification and it may help you. You'll Never Be Rich Working for Someone Else0 -

Are you developing it then, because Sony when asked last week said they didnt yet know if it would be backwardly compatable with all games.
Oh and you realise you will be waiting until Xmas next year for it - assuming their schedule doesnt slip?
And it includes the HD DVD equivalent of a Betamax video recorder too...
And doesnt have anything to match Xbox Live.
Or the Media Centre Extender.
And will only let you play music from Sony DRM infested memory gate products
Even the Xbox 360 lightsynth 'Neon' when you play music is the <edited>...(written by Jeff Minter - Llamasoft) See http://www.llamasoft.co.uk/neon.php
"Remember what I said about Nuon and "computational resolution"? Well, without giving any secrets away and getting myself into trouble with Microsoft, I can tell you that the Xbox360 can bring to bear an absolutely *staggering* amount of computational power on each and every pixel, and never drop below 60 frames a second. The thing's a *monster*."
