I tried that ... 'pictures on the website are there for illustrative purposes only' was the reply. Also pointed out that this was the only Currys / Dixons 'deal' I'd ever seen where the total price was MORE than buying the items individually - that's why I expected a premium package. Got nowhere with it !!! Been promised a full refund, including postage.0

Dont know if this Link is any good to anyone?
I've just ordered mine from there now, premium pack for £279 (how it should be), I had to pay a £39.99 pre-order fee (on my egg card for protection) and you pay the other £240 when they are about to ship. They say that they are due a order on jan 12th or before. I'm resigned to the fact that i'm not gonna get one before xmas.
Never heard of stormmonkey before, they use nochex for CC payments. so lets see 0 0

i am in no big rush for an xbox 360 - ideally i'd like one around Feb / March time. Is there anywhere i can order one that is giving delivery estimates that i can watch online? Amazon do that normally but they aren't accepting orders at the minute. PLAY will accept the order but it just says awaiting stock.
I'd really like something that shows me when it might be shipped, and that be updated over time, rather than through play whereby it could sit at 'awaiting stock' for six months...0

its to do with the fact of getting the technology perfected to build the thing at a sensible cost. Also i think it suited Sony to give a load of info out to try to muddy the waters for microsoft.
If Sony could have launched this year they would have.0

lol, buy xboxes on ebay now, they're going for not much more than they are new.
Theres been a massive drop in price, probably because all the people that wanted them badly have now got them and the market is still saturated by people after a few quick pounds. Just seen two cores go for around £240 each - I bet after fee's and possibly his original delivery charge they've made nothing!DONE: Great North Run 09! Raised £452 for the National Autistic Society

Yeah, The Ebay prices are dropping fast. But I dont think its dropping so quickly on the Premium Packs. there still pretty hard to come across and teh demand is still high.0

the chrome faceplate is not the disk drive flap it is the whole front of the xbox which in conjunction with the premiums silver door makes the whole front of it chrome
this link is for another faceplate called hotrod just so you can personalise your xbox. :snow_laugBsc no 224

This has to be a Premium for three reasons:
 1. The small pic. is a Premium box
 2. The big pic. is a Premium box
 3. Elsewhere on the site they explicitly talk about XBOX Core boxes.
 4. The price doesn't make sense for it to be a core.
OK 4 reasons! ... fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency ...0
