    Hi,

A question for Glasses Direct please.
I've had my eye test done and I've received a voucher from work for £55 and I've looked on your FAQs and it says you accept these :T
My question is, I'm trying to keep my costs down as looooooowww as possible and wondered if I could get my spare glasses reglazed and use this voucher? I have (I think) a low prescription and currently have vari-focals but want to get a pair of bi-focals as it's close and intermediate that I need.

Regarding bi-focals, it says that one of your opticians will ensure they are fitted correctly etc - how does this work? Would it be another opticians in my area who agree to carry out this work or does someone come to me? And if they come to me, would they come to my work address?

    Thanks muchly in advance :)
    Angie

Angie, sorry for the delay in replying,

Yes you can use the accor vourchers to get a current pair reglazed.

As for adjustments, we do have a service where we can send someone round to your home or office to have them adjusted, but it can often take a long time to arrange external appointments and it's not something we generally recommend.
Before going down that path I would phone our customer services and speak to one of our opticians who can advise you on how you can adjust your glasses yourself, or send them back for adjustment if necessary. If that doesn't help, then they can arrange for someone to come out to you.

Message for glasses direct, i have a free trial of 4 glasses but trying to work out what the two for one includes bit confused to be honest. I think i am going to be purchasing a pair of £99 stetson frames/lens and wondered does this mean i can get two of the same stetson frames or up to the same cost or could you confirm

    Thanks

Again, apologies for taking so long to reply - I'll be checking far more frequently in future.

Unfortunately you can't get 2 pairs of the stetson frames for free, the 2nd free pair must be from our own brand range up to the same value, so you could get another pair of Glasses Direct brand frames up to £99 for free. That would give you a choice of 312 frames so hopefully something in there would be suitable.

Erm...I think you're getting me mixed up with the selectspecs representative. I'm the Glasses Direct representative, we have different returns policies. :)

I'll let them comment on theirs. We offer a no quibble free returns policy.

After picking up my new glasses from Specsavers today, I am disappointed that they leave marks on the bridge of my nose. I specifically mentioned this problem when choosing new frames, and they advised getting ones without the nose grips (if that's what they are called). Which I did. Just the same problem.

Now I'm looking at buying on line. Can anyone advise on what to choose to avoid the nose marks. Plastic frames, thin lenses, rimless, with or without nose grips?
    Please help!!

You need them as light and well fitting as possible - you may struggle to achieve that online. You really need to find a qualified Dispensing optician who will understand and explain what would fit you best.

I think I'll have to go back and complain to Specsavers and see what they say. Thanks for the reply.

To be fair, as all specs rest on the nose, they are bound to leave some marking/indentation, even if it only temporary. The question is whether it is excessive or if it can be further reduced.
