    Hi

I ordered some prescription sunglasses on 8/6/07 and have had confirmaiton that hey were sent on 12/6/07 but have not arrived

I have sent several emails asking the ETA but have had no reply

How long have other peoples orders taken please?

    Thanks

I ordered from them on 09/06/07, they were shipped on 15/06/07 and arrived today 23/06/07, so two weeks from ordering to receiving them. BTW, I didn't receive an email to say they had shipped - I found out myself by clicking on the CCNOW link in the original confirmation email.

In that case, It's just downright carelessness on their part. No excuse for it. You have my sympathy!

Well - at least you got them. Okay, it did take over two weeks, but that's not too bad for what you probably saved.

What were their delivery terms? If they exceeded it, send them an email for some sort of goodwill gesture/freebies!

On the other hand, the customer service, care and communications are extremely lacking. I really hate it when the take your money and you don't hear ANYTHING! It doesn't take much to reply to an email and/or send out a confirmation that your things have been posted to you, does it?

I wouldn't shop with any online retailer who behaved like that (after all - it's supposed to be a reasonably enjoyable experience, without any anxiety - isn't it??).

I ordered 2 pairs of glasses from Goggles4u and received them quite quickly. They are quite good quality too but I am sure one of the pairs has a higher prescription than the other. I have been wearing contact lenses since my OH stood on my specs so not sure if this is why they feel a bit a stronger than normal. Although one pair does definately feel stronger. The ground looks like it's really high and i feel a little wide eyed when wearing one of the pairs. I have contacted Goggles4u to advise that I think 1 pair is stronger but is there a way I can double check? Would an optician be able to tell by looking at them? I am not due an eye test til later in the year but I'm wondering if it's a good idea to go and see if they'll check them, hopefully for free! I only got the glasses online as I was struggling with my lenses every day all day at work so thought they'd be a quick fix til I booked my eye test in September when it's due and when I've got some extra money (hopefully!). I'm a bit wary if I send them back the company will say they're fine and i'll end up paying out for postage etc. Any advise would be great :)

Opticians have a machine (often looks like a big white microscope) that they can pop your specs on and it will tell them the prescription.

I have had a similair problem before. It is VERY difficult to get them to do this for you. The typical first question they ask is 'why dont you take them back to whoever made them?' if you tell them they were bought off the net they look at you like you have the plague!

A nice optician might do it for you but I think you might have your work cut out. Possibly try ASDA or TESCO as their opticians seem a little more chilled out about internet specs in my experience.

    Hope this helps

Telephone : 01252 734321. We have ordered a pair of glasses last week and payment has been taken by world pay, however we have not heard anything since. We have tried ringing the provided number above however it is an unassigned number. Have we been ripped of ?

    Hi
That instrument is called a focimeter, if you go in ask them to check your glasses with the 'focimeter' against your Rx (prescription) they will be impressed by your knowledge and will do it with no charge or questions. Many large multiple Opticians use a mystery shopper programme, you'll like like one of them, they will be only too pleased to help! I know, my own Opticians uses a similar system.
    Good Luck.:T

I hope you have heard from them by now but can well appreciate how worried you must be. That's why I only buy from sites that when you call them you can speak to a human voice.

And that's one of the reasons why when I bought some glasses recently I bought them from http://www.nuglasses.co.uk Their helplines are open seven days a week from 8 am till 8pm and I even had a couple of conversations with them on a Sunday. And the girl I spoke to was very helpful. Now that's what I call great customer service. It's a pity more sites don't do the same.
