    Good Morning All

Pam - get well soon - keep warm.

Its a very frosty & chilly morning so the heating has been turned up a little.

WM on, BM about to be put on & kitchen to be wiped down. Aim to hoover and wash all the downstairs floors this morning and get the bathrooms done.

Am waiting for the address from my ebay seller as she wants us to pick up this afternoon, suits me but it will be strange having a trip down memory lane at the the same - will bring back memories of Nan.

No cooking for me today!!:j am out for a meal with friends tonight and OH will get a takeaway.

Feeling quite motivated at the moment - hope it lasts.

    Have a great Saturday.

    morning all

i'm officially on my hols for a week. Nothing much planned except for dd's hearing test, a trip to thorpe park and a blessed union meeting in town.

Os - wise I'm having a bit of a freezer challenge week as all the lovely yellow stickery things this week have had to be squished and folded to get them in. Will clean the house today and then off to dfriend's for a heavy night of gossip and spritzers. have a good day all
I'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 2008

Pam - get well soon; the cold that's doing the rounds is horrid. I think my recent pneumonia jab has protected me but most of my immediate family has had it. DS2 was ill with it while I was away and said it was a really nasty cold. Perhaps you could ask your GP for the jab especially as you are already on medication and are probably in one of the groups of people that should be protected. I had no side-effects from the jab and just one gives life-long protection.Taplady - I had to do presentations in a job I had a few years ago. I have a stammer which is a lot better now than when I was younger but I was still terrified of talking in public. I knew someone who did public speaking for motivational courses for the work place; she was excellent and I asked her how she did it so well. She said she always visualises herself beforehand entering the room fully confident and in command and found that really helped; she pictured herself as someone else, a TV presenter or a newsreader, IYSWIM. She also said that projecting her voice from below her diaphragm and not from the top of her throat, as you do when you are nervous, was a big help. I hope I have explained it well! Well, the BM is on, the WM is on, the bathroom and upstairs is clean and tidy and the ironing board has just gone up in anticipation. I will prep for tonight's curry then get on with the ironing. The weather is nice, too, so I shall take a stroll up to the post office a bit later.See you later.KathyXX

    Morning all,

Bright but cold here today, and we are off on our hols :T , we are leaving here about lunchtime and going to collect dd's friend, and then off we go. We are only going to Dorset so it not too far to drive, but I am sooo exctied, it will be a nice change.

Packed most things last night, just odd bits to put in his morning, will also clean and hoover through, and mop the floors before we go, rubbish to go out, and garden recycling. It will be nice and tidy to come home to then.

    Hugs to Candy xx

Snowy, hope Dylan is ok, and that you can get some help for him xx

Snowy, hope you are ok, you have not posted for a while xx

Be good while I am away, no wild parties :D xx

    Morning,

MSD - Have you considered making your own sausages? You can pick up a tabletop mincer fairly cheap now on Ebay, or get an attachment for your Kenwood if you have one.
Taplady - I am sure your presentation went better than you think and next week will be even better :)
NoahsPenilessMummy - What recipe did you use for the apple chutney? I want to make some but all the recipes I can find require mincing

My mum has brought lots of goodies with her :D I don't know what to do today, I did suggest going to The Garden House but she declined . Could go to Buckfast Abbey and the like, there is a nature reserve there. We are meeting her son (from her first marriage - I have never met him before) tonight, was supposed to be for dinner but he is coming from Newquay and has to be back for 8.30...but has something on in the day, so that gives us between 5 and half 7. Hardly worth it. Anyway, Mum has suggested just staying in and pottering at home - she did not mind the mess, she is used to it :) I made sure the bathroom was spotless and the (my) bedroom was tidy and cosy, with fresh towels etc

I am currently reading Judith Levines Not Buying It - very interesting, all about anti-consumerism - she 'vowed' not to buy anything 'unneccessary' for a year. Shame she went on a buying spree beforehand though

Anyway, hope you all have a good Saturday

Edit: Snowy - I forgot to mention you earlier. Hugs to you.

thanks Kathy:T we had to teach a class an exercise routing so we had to move and talk at the same time:eek: I've always hated any public speaking and really envy those with confidence. We are having a talk about public speaking in a couple of weeks so am hoping that helps. I was shaking like a leaf! :D
    Thanks also to Blairweech!

    Morning Everone

Its a bright but cold one here!

Kid areall dressed warmly as I'm loathe to put the heating on.Not for moneysaving reasons more because its hot air heating and with a few colds in the house it dries out the air and makes coughing worse!

For everyone with a cold mucho sympathies as me and mine have been suffering with them for weeks and cant seem to get it out of the house

Its Saturday and to me its always been shopping day but I dont really need anything so think I'll give it a miss this week.

I've got a pan of stew mix soaking so I've that to boil, cool bag and freeze

Also got a big bag of cooking apple that need dealing with and some eaters that I want to turn into apple crisps
WM is already on and BM will be on as soon as I've washed the kids brekkie pots

Got some Mince in the freezer that will be turned into Chilli for tonights tea and I need to make some toffee popcorn for the kids to eat whilst watching x-factor

Snowy I am so sorry about Dylan and hope that you can find a solution other than euthanasia for his problem

    Morning

Been awake for a while now but have snuggled back into bed with my pint of tea and breakfast tv till it warms up a bit out there:D Still not given in on the central heating yet although my fire was on a bit longer than it should have been last night :o Might have to give in soon I guess but it has become a bit of mission

Remember the clocks go back this weekend everyone - nice lie in for everyone tomorrow:j

Having my M+S dine for a tenner with a mate tonight we decided on the chicken and roasties with apple pie and a nice bottle of red. May do the Jamie chicken with lemon and garlic  not bad for a fiver each:j

If I can drag my butt out of bed soon I need to have a bit of a swiff and tackle some of the ironing I guess, on the other hand Saturday Kitchen is just starting so may postpone.

Snowy hope its better news for Dylan today
Taplady - I do business coaching for presentations so if you want some tips for next time pm me and Ill sort some out for you

Wonder if the Arms girls will return today:rotfl:

Right James is on so off for a drool :D
  • Morning friends, very dark and windy here this morning, but the house is not cold, that loft lagging is definitley doing it's job.
I wont be venturing out at all today as me and DH are going to lay the stair carpet, that will be a relief cause if you come down without shoes you catch yourself on those horrible spikey grippers.
Made a chilli yesterday so we will have that with rice for dinner.
Our club is not on tonight so we will have a night in in front of the tele, i see channel 4 is starting a horror season, so that will keep us amused.
Mioliere i agree with you in the sense that the media should be giving people information on how to survive this recession, instead of depressing the whole nation, our local Tyne Tees news asked last night for suggestions to be emailed in about the very subject. I tried but for some reason couldnt get the email link to work.
Well off now for a quick shower before the kids need the bathroom, have a nice weekend everyone BSBxx
