Suggest you try a more ethically and better run institution owned by the investors like Nationwide or the Co-Op.
Decent rate and the hope that things would run smoother as my compensation will be going into my current account with that bank.
I wouldn't say I'm "trying hard" to give any institution my money... to lazy for that0 -
LOL how patronising can you be? My spam filter via my ISP control is OFF, my local spam is EMPTY, my online quarentine is empty, I have not received the email, its my fault now is it? My email address is correct on the Icesave website?
While I dont agree it should all be done by post saying its our fault for not running our email accounts properly is a joke.
Do take the care next time to read what I was actually referring to. If your spam filter is off and you still never received the email that is a different issue.0 -

.
We've got post after post warning people that the email may be in their spam filter - any "new" address that isn't in a "safe list" may end up there. That is usually the way many spam filters work.
If the spam is blocked at ISP level (and there isn't any evidence of this) and the email still isn't received the instructions are to call the FSCS.If you do not receive the first email from FSCS by close of business on Friday 7 November 2008 you should contact FSCS on 0845 7300 131 (Icesave enquiries only). FSCS will be sending letters out to all customers who do not complete the application process online. If you receive the first email but not the second by 4 December, you should call our customer helpline on 0845 7300 131 (Icesave enquiries only).

But if they had sent a letter in the post 99.9% of them would have arrived. And yes the percentage of post lost by the Royal Mail is only 0.1% (one in one thousand) as I had cause to check the matter not long ago.0

The co-op donate to, and are linked to, the Labour party - so I'm not sure how they can be that ethical IMO: Labour = illegal war in Iraq, encouraging people to borrow beyond their means causing some of this financial mess in the first place, now trying to spend its way out of it...0 -
Since it was a internet only account originally, Why should the FSCS also be held responsible for people who don't know how to operate their email accounts properly?
Wow you are so supportive and friendly. To be happy you need to make someone happy.0 -
By the way, if you mistype FSCS you get directed to...

Don't worry.....I've been on the wrong end of the cr*p that Patr100 posts.....I suspect they maybe a TROLL!!
Most posts by Patr100 either patronising, rude, or offensive in some way to people who are only trying to make a point or ask a question!
Trolling these M.S.E. forums appears to be a hobby of theirs.;)
Take no notice, and ignore their fatuous remarks in the future!0 -

Unfortunately these aggressive but very active trolls seems to make up a remarkably high percentage of MSE forum regulars (that is the people with more than 1,000 posts each).
My theory would be they are people with no savings themselves who are jealous of those who do have them and who are thus enjoying trying to ratchet up the current pain, suffering and misfortune of the Icesave investors.0 -

And have you thought of the costs involved if they had to write to all 300,000(?) account holders? It is/was an internet based bank after all so it makes sense that it is all sorted out via internet/email“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
