  • I have just tried to move money out of my Kaupthing/ING account, but the system would not confirm the transfer and kept going back to the previous screen. I have sent them a secure message to ask about it - but do any of you know if there are more problems at the moment?

I removed the last of my money from KE last week by bacs. It was in my destination account in three days.
Chaps requested 8th October : money left my account 8th October : £20 chaps fee deducted : destination account Halifax : Chaps fee of 20 re-funded to my KE account 27th October but dated 8th October: On the spreadsheet and received generic e-mail 29th October. Funds paid to my linked account 4th November

It happens on a Sunday. Don't ask me why but it does. Try again in the morning and if it does'nt work I will pay you myself.

I was one of the lucky ones who only had to wait a week, so amazed that some people are still waiting. I did leave 1k in though and I think it's time to move it, though I have some trepidation about doing anything where my money disappears.

Is it better to phone than to do this online I wonder?

    Thanks

I emptied my KE account a couple of weeks ago.Transfer on line took 4 days, quite straight forward.

Same here - I emptied the remnant interest from my KE account on 2/12 and it was in my linked account by 5/12

Thanks both. I'll transfer the remainder and close the account I think (though the interest rate in my other account has plummeted but that's another story! Time to pay another chunk of the mortgage.)

Just to say....still hovering and hoping for last few to go through.Guinness Book of Records gave up waiting up weeks ago.."too far-fetched".
Out of interest,is anybody keeping money with ING once this fiasco is over?
  • Amazing that people are still waiting for money, good luck!

After getting my 2 CHAPS, I've tried 3 times to close my KE a/c, twice by Secure Message and once by a phone call and still I can log-in!

Was this part of the deal with ING Mr Darling?

Keeping mine in KE for the time being as the interest rate is better than most.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
