New Kaupthing CHAPS/BACS Transfers discussion - Friday 24th October

I moved my money out on the day before the collapse and printed the receipt as a precaution. The money failed to turn up on time as it appears that the crash put a hold on everything even that , which, had been confirmed but the money turned up a week later in my old savings account. SO sorted but a very unsettling experience  :jLove your son.0

Sincere apologies for clogging this monster thread further...
I've just attempted a BACS withdrawal from the KE website. When I confirm, it goes away, thinks about it, comes back pretty quickly. But nothing happens and there is no message or change to available balance or any indication it has registered my request
Needless to say, no telephone support this late. Is this the way it is now? Do I have to phone them tomorrow?
Thanks in advance.
(PS. My sight is suffering from ploughing through all the posts on here - or maybe my old housemaster was right?)0 -

Check your account during business hours. I did my transfer late on a Monday evening but it didn’t show until daytime Tuesday. BACS normally take 3 to 4 working days, so it should be in your account by Thursday or Friday. ING have said that they are processing BACS as CHAPS, so it may even be in your account by Tuesday. Please keep us informed. Good luck.0 -

As mentioned in some posts, the Citibank requires different sort codes for BACS and CHAPS transfers. ING currently only use the BACS system for the KE saga.
Once again, this is false. ING is currently processing BACS withdrawals through CHAPS/SWIFT. If you bank with Citibank, you will probably need to try and intitiate a "BACS" withdrawal from KE, but to the Citibank CHAPS details.0 -

Please can we hear from someone who actually banks with Citibank and confirm this one way or the other?
I would suggest phoning Citibank before you attempt a transfer, explain the situation to them, before you try and make sure you use the correct code.
I have edited my previous post, thanks to agsnu's comments.0 -
I suspect that the comments by *katybull86* earlier, about the names on the list are going to prove correct.
Anyone still owed money, would i am sure, be monitoring this string and inform *bigg* accordingly.
I'm still waiting too. Transferred failed because of issue with linked account (money appeared on statement then was taken back on next line of statement) but it has taken 3 weeks to determine where the money went. Now apparently sat in KE suspense account but still waiting and waiting for this to be confirmed by, guess who, the administrators. At what point to ING take over KE savings properly and we can start getting some proper service?0 -

From what I can tell, they are intercepting BACS requests and fulfilling them by SWIFT (which is basically layered on top of the CHAPS system in the UK). I did a transfer of the remaining amount in my account last Monday (requested via BACS) and it showed on Thursday afternoon in my destination account (NatWest) as a CHAPS/International payment. Same for CHAPS payment requests - so both CHAPS requests and BACS requests are being fulfilled oddly, in ~3-4 days via SWIFT. Thus there's no point making a CHAPS withdrawal request since you'll be charged £20 by their system and then they'll have to re-credit it.0
