Luckily I withdrew all-but-£100 of my money from Kaupthing just weeks before the crisis due to other reasons.

For the remaining £100, would I be better off trying to get it out ASAP but risk it disappearing into a black hole which could potentially be a lot of hassle? ... or to leave it until the current issues have settled down?

    Any advice anyone?

I did a BACS yesterday (Saturday) of my updated interest, CHAPS fee + £1 remaining in the account. I will post here when it arrives, should be by Wednesday (3 working days).

Further to my last I have managed to extract from KE than the interest I was paid today is for the period 1-6 Oct 08 when my money was shown as debited from my KE account. The remaining interest from 7-17 Oct 08 when the funds reached destination account will be paid but as usual they can give no forecast.

Keep the Pressure On it is your money!

Further to my last last what happens after they eventually pay me my interest from the period they delayed my BACS transfer (Obviously they dont know yet when this will be) as I assume as they have not paid this at the end of Oct 08 they will now have to pay me lost interest on the delayed Interest Payment from my delayed BACS transfer. Unless KE and ING get their act togther this could go on forever. If this happens they will then have to pay me lost interest on the delayed lost interest payment on the lost interest from the delayed BACS. This could end up going on forever as recurring until they decide to pay on time. Remember it is your money, dont let them get away with a penny.

Updated list of people awaiting transfers 1130 Nov 2nd

    44 names

Anyone viewing this thread who is not in receipt of their transfer, please check your name is on the list .
As I will be at work during the day it will be difficult for me to keep a close eye on who is new and needs adding or who is getting paid – I will try my best. However it would be best if people can, please PERSONAL MESSAGE me if you need adding or removing – do NOT edit the list yourself.
The total “missing money” for 22 out of 44 is £ 634,820

24 out of the 46 waiting requested transfers on the 7th/ 8th October

If anyone else wants to PM me their amount and date I will add them to the list!

    36 people paid Friday!
5 people sometime over the weekend!
No more offshore banking for me

Unless there is much action on the payment front this afternoon, the next time I will put an update on to the list will be tomorrow afternoon - at which time I'm hoping that most of you will have got your money and be out celebrating OR have received a call because you are one of the remaining "35"!

Still unacceptable they have 35 queries - but as we have seen in previous weeks, ING just don't seem to want to make this process easy!

I made the mistake of thinking the KE collapse only affected us in the UK but just stumbled upon this German site (translated via Google):

    http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://kaupthing-edge.helft-uns.de/&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search?q=kaupthing-edge.helft-uns.+de&hl=en

It has started me wondering how many other people across the world are caught up in this. The Germans don’t seem to be so well protected as us.

Whilst I agree that interest that should be due for the 'missing' period, I don't think we should be distracting ING/KE until every last person has been repaid their larger transfers!
  • Just had a call from KE - they really are working over the weekend!

My transaction has now been identified amongst the remaining 35 by the administrators (?!) and will be in my linked account tomorrow (I think I'll be checking my account every 10 minutes... :p).

Here's hoping everyone else gets a similar phone call today! :D
  • Had a phone call from KE this morning, no mention of the 35 just telling me my money would appear in my linked account tomorrow. He was unable to say how the money was being transferred so I can only assume he's just been told to ring me with the news.
I have asked for a written apology and exct details of what has happend to my money, he says he will request one.
    Here's hoping !
