Very funny ! Good to see a sense of humour prevails . Hopefully next week will be our week and we can get all of this behind us .....0 -
Hi Fury,
All monies received late today (into Natwest account via BACS).
Thanks for everyones help - looks like things are starting to clear.
I would suggest letters of complaint to ING MD is a good idea and I shall be moving any money out of ING to somewhere else!
Cheers0 -

This transfer happened almost instantaneously, and I think was either therefore CHAPS or some other accelerated form (but NOT faster payments).
Maybe not helpful, but it does indicate to me that they aren't simply pushing things out onto the BACS system so once it IS inititiated it will arrive quickly.
fingers crossed for you.
My wages used to come through as "advice confirms" they only used to do it that way when they'd messed up putting them through, it was almost instant as EalingSaver says. my transer from KE also came through as "advice confirms" on the 17th so there is still a chance it could appear tonight.0 -

The banking system is in the middle of a major revamp, just to complicate our woes. I lifted this from the Halifax website. Some banks do and some banks don’t:
Faster Payments
We have introduced a new Faster Payments Service for all bank account customers.
We now send most standing orders and bill payments from your Halifax and Bank of Scotland bank accounts through the Faster Payments Service. As a result, payments may arrive in the receiving account on the same day they left your account. You don't need to do anything to send your standing orders or bill payments faster; we do this automatically.
Where the receiving bank does not offer this service, the payment could still take up to three bank working days to arrive.
You are now able to make Immediate Faster Payments from your Halifax and Bank of Scotland bank accounts. Payments sent to accounts held with other banks (that also provide this service) should arrive within two hours, and many will arrive in just seconds. Where the receiving bank does not offer this service, the payment could still take up to three bank working days to arrive.
Immediate Faster Payments will show on your statement as 'Faster Payment' plus the name of the recipient.
You are able to make an Immediate Faster Payment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week simply by selecting today's date as the payment date.
There is no fee for this service.0 -

Please give your shotgun to a friend to look after until you get your money. I bet it’s a double barrelled one.0 -

Spooky! I should have remembered, there is another 'other time' only 4 days ago when I got a payment through as 'Advice Confirms'. And that was my salary because my employers bank had mucked up and not paid out when they should have, (for everyone in the company - we're in the process of being acquired so I think things have got messed up).
But worse......I was due a bonus payment which didn't make it onto my commission statement, which I pointed out to my employer yesterday. And I know there are some on here who will think this is baloney, but the value was EXACTLY the same as the amount I'm waiting on from KE.
Oh s*******t. Now I don't know whether I should be on the list or off the flaming list.
Umm. Hopefully my bank will be able to tell me who the source of the transaction was. Problem for tomorrow morning now I feel.
Fury, keep me OFF the list. I'll PM to get re-instated in the unlikely event this wasn't the outstanding KE payment.0 -
Pete_Joseph wrote: »Martin's earlier comment that everyone has been told they will get their money by Monday is not correct, unfortunately. I was told by ING this afternoon that they were not giving anyone deadlines anymore or even agreeing to ring back or e-mail until such time as their transfer had been resolved owing to the bad publicity they got when they were not able to meet their promises. She therefore said that she couldn't give me any time-frame when I would get my money or another e-mail or phone call and no-one in ING would now say anything more than that. I know this is different from what others have been told - they either introduced a new hard-line policy later this afternoon or are giving some of us the run around. I am still waiting for 40K transferred by BACS 7 Oct am.0
