Zaphod, maybe its time to try morphing to Arthur Dent instead? Z's not a good place to start from when in 'lists to be processed'.

BTW, how about phoning KE/ING and "trick and treating them...." Just remind them you're a shotgun owner....before they make their choice.

Finally received my money today. BACS transfer from the 7th. I didn't receive a phone call or email to let me know it was coming.

Thanks to everyone on the thread. I'll be sure to stick around till we all have our savings back. I wonder if we'll ever get to the bottom of what happened...

Received the money sometime between 2.30pm and 5.15pm this afternoon.

Hey Zaphod, close of business is usually when the bank in question stop accepting payments/transfers etc., and times can differ, Nat West informed me that their COB ws 4am, not that I believe them, as I was being fobbed of by the world and its uncle then, but generally that's what it means,so keep checking. For example, if you work in an office that closes at 5 then COB is 5. Good Luck..

Zaphod, one thing I noticed is that mine came in as 'Advice Confirms'. I've only seen this on my account once before, about a week ago when I did a transfer from Anglo Irish. This transfer happened almost instantaneously, and I think was either therefore CHAPS or some other accelerated form (but NOT faster payments).

Maybe not helpful, but it does indicate to me that they aren't simply pushing things out onto the BACS system so once it IS inititiated it will arrive quickly.
