Feeling a bit more positive today - after a 'hissy fit' with KE customer service this morning received the personalised "held up" email this morning and had a phone call this evening to say my money will be in the linked account by Monday 3rd latest.
I know we've heard it all before but I really feel that this time it's true.
Also, did I detect some slight conciliatory tone in ING update today?

As a new member this is my second post, I really do think this forum and the space, plus time devoted to the Kaupthing-edge UK and ING,is the best thing I have come across,
it a real feel of People power about it, I have been posting and reading posts on other forums, to try and get a measure of how, big or small the KE problem is, I was in the position at one time around the 27 /10/2008, when I thought it was only me that had not been paid anything at all.
To see this forum with the mass of posts all with folks in the same boat as me, was the best tonic I have had since the whole Kaupthing-edge uk episode started.
The latest event for me, was today being telephoned by KE, I was out at the time but the lady named Linda, left a message to call her at KE before 8:00 pm today, so at about 4:00 pm I rang,I asked for the person by name who rang , only to be told she had gone home.
but after a "I know what she was going to say to you" and a long ish pause
while he found a note or list, maybe a script.
He started going through some sort of speech,l cut him short, and the many point was, I should receive in my nominated bank account, the money I oringinally asked to be transfered by CHAPS on 08/10/2008, I though OH Good it's been done, Then the words by close of Business on Friday 31/10/2008.
What raced through my little brain was, So that gives them the weekend to come up with another load of reasons as to why it did not arrive on their
latest called up day( Friday 31/10/2008)
Other things ran through my mind , like how do they keep on moving the "It will be there day" to a Friday to get at least 2 days of no phone calls.
I think an overwellming tiredness came over me or something, as I just said OH THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next was I had to pop out again and guess what another phone message
from KE,
Can I please ring urgent, I thought this is it, and quickly rang, only to be greeted by, Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh sorry we did not know you had already been telephoned today.
The only thing I got out of her was they are very aware of this forum, and a little unhappy to say the least about the comments, as they feel that theres alot of mis information, WHAT COMING FROM KE is the best statement I have heard since the 09/10/2008.
Like the Royal Bank Of Scotland, is not never was, our clearing bank, So what is your clearing bank, NAT WEST, she said.
I said look I have been there done, that, on the Friday end of business
for more once and not a sign of a penny piece has ever arrived,
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh but this is diffrent, it still rings in my ears, I will not bore you with the rest.

I got onto the KE spreadsheet on Friday afternoon, expecting a callback Tues pm at the latest. Nothing.
Rang to find out the latest fiction, to be told that the list I was on had not been forwarded to the administrators until Sat am - and that was when the 48 hours started! So I would be contacted by 11am today.
11 am and not a dicky bird! Complaint initiated with the Ombudsman - thanks to those who provided this advice.
Then straight on the phone to KE, held for 20 mins and semi-politely enquired why they had not been in contact. 'We've sent you an email - haven't you got it?' 'No. When was it sent?' 'Oh, 2 minutes ago!' Co-incidence? Standard email received. Expressed usual disbelief and pointed out they had now missed six self-imposed deadlines.
Much to my amazement, I received a callback from supervisor late this afternoon who stated that my funds had been identified and released from the clearing bank. First time I felt I had received any personal rather than generic response. Deadline of (you've guessed it!) close of business Fri. Funds to be sent by SWIFT - apparently similar mechanism to CHAPS but 1-2 working days.
We shall see....not looking forward to another Fri deadline.

Yes sorry in the fog of all this, I think that a lot of people on this forum and the Website folks are really owed a big THANK YOU from me and mine , for all the effort and hard work that they have put in, and to my surprise folks that have had their money paid into their linked accounts, still come back and support us, NOT SO LUCKY people still waiting.
It takes away the whole nasty sort of greed, and grab element, that was running through my mind, during this not very nice period, of seeing the other side, of what I aways thought was a professional banking industry.
