Are any of the led lights coming on, when connected to USB? R u connecting the box striaght into a USB connection or a hub, (if a hub, is it power controlled?)
When you plug the device to the usb you should see either the USB or PSTN led light on.
Both the PSTN and the Power lights come on, just not the USB light. It's plugged straight into a USB port on a computer, and I did try it on two different computers. The phone is completely dead: I don't get a dial tone, and when I try to Skype I don't even get as far as a burbling noise ... it just goes dead.
I won't get a chance to play about any more until Monday.
I think Seth's solution is too advanced for me!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -

Right, have now made a test call on Skype. And the good news is that it works with both the BT line and the Telewest line.
So, now I just need to find a suitable adaptor to make it work with 'normal' phones.
AND solve the problem - which we have with another Skype phone - that when you hang up a Skype call, it shuts the whole Skype dialogue box down.Any suggestions, anyone? Or do we learn to live with that ...

I've got USB voip super adaptor (BV-101) and can't get it to work with voipstunt. I let the computer install the voip adaptor software, but not skype. Voipstunt knows the adaptor exist and I've changed the setting accordingly. The problem seems to be that the adaptor is connected to the net but it doesn't recognise voipstunt. Any suggestions?

Planning to play with it at home, if I can get it working here I might buy it from work.
I have, perhaps belatedly, looked at the product spec on the website which says it works with all phones, including cordless, so that's useful, at least they're not saying it only works with cordless!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I've downloaded xten and xtenmate but I'm afraid I can't understand how to set it up.0

Ok, from my experience, I could never get the new xtenmate and xten app working together, I have old versions which do work but unsure of versions, but can get them for you.
Basically, the xtenmate run in the background (startup) program and has a small telephone icon on bottom right hand corner of screen (and should be green when connting you external usb box).
The xten application uses the xtenmate to identify your external usb adaptor as an interface to be able to talk to it. Note: that xtenmate is nothing to do with xten so support is not available.
You need to configure xten, with you connection details, e.g. username/password/sip address IP etcc. and then tell it to use you USB device for input/output conversations.
It takes a little working out, but theres loads of forums that can help if you do a search in GOOGLE. It does take a little research but once setup works fine using voipbuster/voipstunt or sipdiscount (all same company)0
