Download the VOIPBUSTERMATE from yealink.com/en/otherdown.asp
Install it.
Now providing you have VOIPCHEAP running on startup, this utility will automatically bring the VOIPCHEAP screen when you pick up the reciveer then you PRESS *, then just dial 0044(number) and press # to dial out.
I have this setup, going into a normal DECT cordless phone, so all I do is start my computer, which automatically logs into my login. wait a few secs and then use my handset to do the rest, no messing about with the computer.
Sorry if above is rushed, at work so have to keep it quick.
Ignore this post, I had the cables the wrong way round......doh!!!0 -
eilz,
now I've got this connected up ok,I'm noticing that the sound quality when dialing via voipcheap isnt great at all, lots of hissing. Is this common?0 -
Eilz, no luck yet as I will need around 50 volts, which is a bit high and not easy to get out of a portable device transformer ,not too many lying around in our house  .
That is the voltage BT use at the exchange to power your line, I have a disused BT line, but they must have removed the fuses as that doesn't work. There is a relay in the B2K that senses the PSTN line, maybe there is a way of fooling it inside the box?
I will look see. Or maybe less than 50v, say 24 will get it to work

Would be very grateful for some help.
Bought the Telbox from Aria and plugged it into the USB (no PSTN connected yet). Computer recognised and installed the Telbox without any input from me. The Line and Power lights are on (although no line is connected) but the USB light is off.
Connected the line and a DECT phone using the supplied tel cable.
Set VOIPcheap to run on startup and downloaded VOipbustermate (version 04) and seem to have installed it successfully as it glows green. Rebooted.
Now dont seem able to get the DECT phone to do anything. I am not sure about the sequence of * and # before and during dialling, which does not help. However, I had thought that when I 'pick up' the DECT phone Voipcheap would spring up on the screen of the computer. Nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong ? Does the fact that the USB light does not light up mean that I have a duff unit.
Any help very gratefully received.0 -
Not having a telephone line is a problem I am working on with eilz's help.
To get the USB light to work the box needs to have an operational telephone line plugged in the line socket, or something that supplies around 45 volts to that socket, so fooling it into thinking a line is present. My box usb lights up with about 42 volts using a mix of power supplies and batteries and pressing * connects the phone to Voip..... etc.
I am going to use PP3 batteries, from beeping smoke alarms ( usually start beeping around 8.5 v ). Having battery clips it is easy to join them together, in a snake fashion. I think 5 may work or 6 if not. These will need connecting to the middle 2 wires of an old rj11 telephone lead.
I will add further posts as I progress.
ps the
telbox rj11 sockets use only the inner 2 contacts. Do you have the correct adapters to BT plugs. They are wired the American way, the same reason why a lot of modems require a special lead.

DC, did you actually try this and did it work?, I take it there are two wires going into the USB box that you supplied power to. does it matter which is positive and negative. Also, be careful not to provide too much power, you may blow the USB box, itsn't it amp that you should also be looking out for?, if a smaller voltage works then I suppose that will also be, like you said a battery, maybe a 9v batt (square batt)0 -
Further to my own post above and those who are having a problem with no PSTN line my situation seems to be ....
The line light is lit whether or not a PSTN line is connected.
The USB light does not light (whether or not a PSTN line is connected) unless I am dialling through the Voipbuster software. When I push the green send button on the software, the unit clikcs into action and the USB light comes on.
However, I still cannot do anything with the phone (I have switched the DECT phone to a wired phone) as it is easier to check what is happening.0 -
To eilz I have tried it with a 37volt transformer in series with a 9 volt battery and it works. I am in the process of getting the pp3 batteries as these have a limited mAhr capacity. The positive is from memory the left hand contact. Dont worry I will give you details either later tonight or tomorrow.
FF99,
Have you read my edited post on phone leads?

Do you have a live PSTN connection to test with the device?
If so, when you connected the PSTN line, you should be able to pick up your phone and press * to switchover from PSTN to USB on the Aria Box.
If you don't have a PSTN line connected (a working line) then you will not be able to press *. It may work pressing the software keys on the PC but it kinda defeats the purpose of using the aria box.0
