Stupid delivery driver!!
Comments

I've had numerous problems with White Arrow where the driver would never bother knocking on the door, but would just stick the card through and throw the parcel over the fence (which meant things got broken). The door knocker is really loud so I knew my hearing wasn't to blame plus I'd seen the drivers just striding straight past my front door. I don't understand this behaviour. Surely it doesn't take that much longer to knock on the door?0

I was expecting a parcel last week with delivery from CityLink. They turned up with the wrong parcel and I had to run down the road after the van!!! The driver was most unhelpful and I ended up having to ring their main office to sort it out. Turns out they put their own labels on the parcel in addition to that already written by the sender. They had put someone elses label on my parcel, and her label on mine. I was told they had had a lot of problems with this sort of thing happening lately, which begs the question 'why haven't they sorted it out?' Whoever is doing the labelling obviously isn't paying much attention to their job. I have been told to expect my parcel today, but I'm not holding my breath.0

The driver who collects the packages fom the sender usually puts the labels on . they are imputted into the computer in the office and then printed out for the driver who labels his own parcels , trouble is if the happen to have an agency driver working for them that particular week they too label there own parcels which often leads to more cross labeling then usual . Also the larger clients of inital city link have the facilities to print there own labels and lable the parcels before they are collected by the driver .

I'm in hampshire. I like it down here, but I have noticed a complete difference in service down here, than up by my house in manchester. Tesco for instance, are great in manchester, awful here.0 -
I sometimes think that people might actually get what they wish for and still complain.
If the person does not appear to be in then the parcel is not left at a neighbours, is not left outside the door (where it could be stolen) but is taken straight back to the depot where you can either pick it up or pay for another delivery attempt.
Alternatively you don't need to take a day off work but all parcels will be delivered between 9PM and midnight.
Delivery companies are a pain but what is the solution?
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
If there's a section to leave a delivery message, I always put on it 'if I'm not in, please leave with any neighbour'. I don't care which, or whether I know them. It's a lot easier to collect from a neighbour than to rearrange delivery or go to a depot.*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***
If I don't reply to you, I haven't looked back at the thread.....PM me0 -
I don't mind having to stay in, but I'd just like them to at least knock.
What I'm angry about is that they lied about where it went, and left me to hunt for it. And the fact that it was damaged.
At least I've got a lovely RM postmas to make up for it, he leaves me till last on his round as he knows I like a lie in!0 -
ordered a nintendo ds package from boots and was expecting it last friday, it turned up thursday whilst out and so the delivery driver apparently decided he would leave it behind the gate. by the time someone got home and found the card in the door the parcel had dissapeared.
checked with the neighbours but no one saw anything
.
rang boots and they say they have to get a statement from the driver then they can send out a form for us to sign and send off for a replacement to be sent out (hopefully different driver).
just hope they get it sorted out fast as it was a xmas present and so £85 (thanks to codes) down and no present0 -
I had a delivery driver actually hand a package to someone who had just posted a flyer through the door, and because that person was walking back down the path the driver assumed that person lived there.
Had another who thought he was doing me a favour and put the package in the bin, posted a card in the door stating what he had done, a neighbour noticed I had not put my bin out for collection... so hence my delivered package ended up in the back of the bin lorry....4 frikkin weeks before a replacment was supplied.
Got one now who is great (contractor for City Link I think) makes most deliveries between 07:00 - 08:00 hammers hell out of the door, and even shouts through the letter box for me to get out of bed....I open the door to be welcomed with a big smile and "Good Morning Sir, Didn't wake you up did I"I prefer a courior who gets to know his customers over those that just see a number and post code

Oh I would love your delivery man! At least he makes the effort to get you up, so bein able to deliver your parcel. I take the point make earlier that many people are out when parcels are delivered and this shows the imperfection in the system - where does the parcel go? I make sure if I have a parcel coming that I speak to the company and instruct who they can leave it with if I'm not in. A lot of work - yes, but at least it gives me extra security. There is no need to run outside
