Afternoon all - or should that be Evening?

I'm soooo late today - been checking out the new Disability & Dosh board.

OS wise, it's a baking day today - bread rolls, and the cake tin was unaccountably empty again.

Went into town yesterday, and looked for a new cosmetic purse for my handbag while Mr LW was at the barber's. It's almost impossible to get a small cosmetic purse without buying a set of 3 different sized holders. When I did find one small enough for my needs, I nearly fainted at the price. No way am I spending £8 on something just to hold a mirror, a lipstick and a comb!

Anyway, Mr LW finally rescued me, and wheeled me round a few more shops (my arms were cream crackered by that time, maneouvering (sp) the wheelchair) and I managed to find ond for £4.50 Still more than I'd have liked, but my old one was literally falling apart at the seams.

((((Hugs)))) for Dylan and for MrsMix's dog

    Congratulations to JackieO's grandson

DD(14) phoned home at lunch time to ask if she could bring a friend for tea today so made some more hobnobs specially.

Made Shepherds pie in the Remoska for tea and have just baked six bread rolls and a small loaf is finishing baking in the oven.

Have put a clean tea towel over the rolls to keep them soft.

Dark and wet here so have just switched the central heating on and might have an early night with a hot drink, a good library book and a hot water bottle.

Still have not heard if DD is coming home this weekend so will just not take anything for granted.

Half term next week and clocks go back this weekend which shows how fast time is going.

    Pennypincher

Have a good holiday and the best of luck for the operation when it comes.

    JackieO

Well done to Danny on passing his driving test.

    Snowy

    Fingers crossed for your cat.

Hugs to everybody and see you later

  • Troo - do you have a dental hospital anywhere near you? Failing that a lot of A&Es now have a dental clinic they refer to - you could ring up your local PCT and ask about emergency dental care. You really need to get that sorted. Either that or audition for a part in the next Pirates of the Carribean ;)

Well I am fuming on two fronts. Firstly the STUPID ex-manager has written to me asking for a sick note when I was off at the start of October. I left a Self cert on her desk but god knows where that's gone. Says I need a Doctor's note? Well, I've had a look on the DWP website and they say up to 7 days included weekends and bank holidays and I don't need one but need one for the excess - I was off Friday and then the following week after spending the twilight hours over the weekend in the local A&E - hence the MR scan. Mr Rage said the DWP website was right and the most I'll need is one for the final Friday. Well, I've e-mailed my very approachable GP to ask her what I need. She also put something very sarky in about how she was disappointed I'd let without saying goodbye to my friends. Well, my friends all knew I was leaving and weren't surprised and I was disappointed that I felt as if I had to go as I had no support and no respect! <<mutters to herself>> It's all going in my exit interview questionnaire. Secondly, I've been on greenmetropolis and checked my books. A while ago I had the only copy of something and thought "oh I'll sell that soon" and "I don't believe it" now there's loads of copies and my name is right near the end of the list. I would have thought that the longest on there was at the top. So, all you amazon book sellers out there does it pay? I see lots of copies for 1p each and am a bit reluctant to do that. What about e-bay? Also slim pickings on digital today but at least I've got another 40 mags to list for e-bay (and I've not even scratched the surface of the suitcases in the front bedroom - oh dear :o ). Dinner tonight was savoury mince with beetroot and yorkshires and I'm planning a nice bath and dead body book for later. Mr Rage is convinced he's coming down with something but has gone off to play football - he's only gone because he is the "keeper of the ball" :rotfl: bless..........
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

ivyleaf - glad you had a good hol.

Penny Pincher - have a great hol!

Rage - I've sold a few books on Amazon and find that it's a slow trade. It's probably better if you have more books. Have a look here for tips.

It's the start of my half term tomorrow at 3.15pm :j :j :j. It can't come soon enough. I haven't been feeling too great for 3 weeks (nothing major, just feeling run down) and last night I was sent home mid-planning meeting and was in bed by 8pm. We're going to France on Saturday, but going via the Ashford Travelodge tomorrow night.

Supper tonight has been tomato soup. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, yum yum! I'm going to make a few batches of food for the freezer when I get back from France. I've used most of the previous batches up over the past few weeks.

WM is finished, so that needs unloading along with ironing and packing for the weekend. We're away for 4 nights in total, so won't need much with us but the place that we're staying in has a nice restaurant and I'll hopefully conning DH into paying for a meal there. :D:D

DH has asked me to point out that he may well do the ironing because (and I'm quoting him here, word for word) "he's amazing"............ :rotfl:

Squiggley - Hope your placement is going well today and you enjoy it.

Thank you mummysaver. Yes, I had a good day even though it will take me a few days to get people's names, and already went out shadowing a visit this afternoon. I think I will really like it there :)

Definitely got brain overload as I have skimmed through the thread, but can't remember very much at all except to send ((((((hugs))))) especially to Candygirl & EssexGirl, but also for anyone else who needs them.

Youngest DD helped make spag bol for supper, so that was quick & easy as I'm now in the middle of typing for my paid work! When that's done if it's not too late I shall hunt around the for the chocolate cake in a mug recipe that was floating around as I think I deserve a treat!

Am sure there is more, but I have no idea what it was..... :rotfl:

  • Hi everyone

Hugs to anyone that needs one.

It really feels like winter here today, I love cold winter nights when I am all snuggly at home.

Can you believe I was silly enough to ask OH to go shopping for a few essentials (bread, milk, butter) and asked him to pick up something for tea. He went to M and S and bought the bread and stuff and then for tea, he must have gone completely loopy, he bought 2 chicken and stuffing sandwiches:eek:

Oh well, should have known better I suppose :rotfl: Sandwich was nice though.

I am so looking forward to the weekend when I get a bit more time to be OS. Might make myself a nice to do list for thiw weekend - I love lists.

I am the sort of person that loves a new notebook with all its nice clean pages, I try and write really neatly for about the first 5 pages then after that its back to my usual scrawl:D

Parents night was tonight, the teacher told me that DD6 was doing really well and was really enjoying school. I am really proud of her, might take her to see High School Musical 3 this weekend as a treat.

Off now to have a snuggly mooch round to see if I can get some more tips and recipies. How do you all organise the recipies you get from here. Me thinks a new notebook might be in order!

    Night night all
