    Good morning all

N9eav - what an awful thing to happen to you BIL.....does any one else feel as if the world is on downward roller coaster without any brakes or is it just me?

Work this morning - one more day then off for a week. We're going to York from Sunday to Thursday next week. DD2 is 18 on Monday and not a party animal so we are off on a cheap break to celebrate instead. We're staying at the Youth Hostel as it's just a bit too late in the year to camp , and intend to re-visit Malham and the Bronte parsonage at Haworth. DD2 is studying English Literature A level and reading Wuthering Heights next term so we thought taking in the atmosphere of the wild and windy moor would be a good thing (never mind that we know the book inside out already - too good a chance to miss :D)

Breakfast was bacon, toast and apples
Lunch boxes have HM rolls with ham, fruit and a naughty bag of quavers
Dinner will be HM pizza, salad and pasta, followed by more apple crumble (apples need using before we go away and freezer is packed full)

Am hoping to do a full inventory of all food cupboards and freezer this afternoon so that I can see where I need to stock up and/or run down. I get very twitchy if I don't have a good stock of staples but have realised that once you get to the point of hiding tins of beans behind the books on the shelves in the bedroom because you've run out of space downstairs then deep thinking and re-planning is probably appropriate.

Penelope Penguin - hope all turns out OK at work

    Have a good day all

  • Morning all

N9EAV how terrible about your BIL, hope he's better soon.
ESSEX-GIRL sorry to hear about your Nan, hugs to you.

Big hugs to anyone else who needs one today.

PENPEN hope your day is better at work, as they are a volunteer, why the hell are they doing it if all they want to do is fight?

Did loads of de-cluttering yesterday as couldn't go to the allotment at all. Moved lots of furniture around downstairs. Looks much better. Took DS to the dr. He has a viral infection. Spent most of last night coughing in my bed as OH is on nights. Hopefully he'll be better to go back to school tomorrow. Shall carry on decluttering today as I can't really do anything else.

Not sure about tea, not inspired at the mo.

    Have a good day all.

  • Morning Guys!

N9eav-Hugs to your family hun. How awful! Let's hope they get a decent sentance. xx

Well.....Im off on holiday later today for a 6 days:j :j :j :j :j :j ...have the nurse coming in a minute to give me a few days supply of strong pain killers that I can use if needed and to have bloods done. I feel very tired but am looking forward to going away. Going with friends so it should be a real laugh. Have packed some wine for the others and a couple of board games. May have a few games of Poker as we need some practice for Xmas:D I have done a mealplan and am taking about 80% of what we need and will buy the rest there.

May date for surgery is 10th Nov, so I have to go in 3-4 days before so will have a week when we get back and I would like to see my folks before I go in incase anything happens.

WM is on, DW needs to go on and the house is getting cleaned the day before we get back, so not worrying about anything. I need to have a shower and get dressed and have a list of things to check before we leave.

OH got me RUN DMC greatest hits yesterday for £2.99 and its bringing back some brill memories. Its brilliant....DD keeps looking at me horrified!!

OH has his signing course this morning then is off for 2 weeks. He is doing really well and knows all kinds of swear words now:rolleyes: ......only joking;)

    ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((smokey)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Twink/Mum-Please look after yourself whilst Im away. I'll text you when I can. Thanks for the lovely card yesterday, it is taking pride place on my fireplace:D Luv Ya xx

Anyway, I wont be around for a few days and I know some of you will be glad to get rid of me but for the ones who do care, I'll see you next week.........and please everyone.....behave yourselves:rotfl:

  • :hello: Hello everybody and hugs to all in need - N9eav that's awful. Well at least they've caught them. Snowy & Dylan - big hugs (and a special tickle to Dylan). Still a "bit" dark here - I've just been on digital to see if anything has been downloaded but not yet so I am contemplating giong back to bed for a bit as I feel all shivery etc. Mr Rage felt that rough he went to bed last night just gone 8 - unheard off...... Might sort out the washing first though. Today will be my attempt at liver'n'onions in the oven - I'll shove some jackets in there as well and a cake or two depending on shelf space (never put an oven on for one thing me!). Also I WILL sort out e-bay stuff..... :rotfl: oooh I'm on the first page !!!!!!
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Morning all

This thread is getting smaller, has the discussion last week frightened everyone away - please come back

Weather forecast not good for today, and I want to wash the bedding, so might struggle to dry it later. I am already really fed up with the dark mornings and grey days and Winter hasn't arrived yet :o

Going to have a rummage in the freezer for some mince and then will do a chilli for dinner. Why is it that I stuggle to close the lid of my big chest freezer, but can't think what to cook

Think today will be a decluttering and Ebay listing day, and if my OS streak surfaces later, I might bake a cake

Have a good day everyone x

Pen Pen hope you have a better day today
Well i am off to Lakeside with my mum to get xmas pressies for her friends as apparently i always come up with something:confused: the os bit is we are off to minehead next week and they live in Somersett so no postage to be paid
will probably not buy anything as have no money at the moment:mad: never mind.
Need to get home as DD1 has a college open eve tonight and we need to go and see if the courses that she wants to do are the right ones for her.
    Have a good day
  • Just a quick reminder to all us good folks in OS land about Operation Christmas Child - campaign dates this years are 1-9 November so it's time to ask in those shops for shoeboxes...... lord knows where I'm going to get the stuff from as all our "good value" (as I prefer to call them) shops are long gone as our shopping centre is currently flat whilst a new sainsbury's is being built - I can hardly wait  I shall stick to the market thanks..... Get the boxes first and then I can work out what WILL fit in them (Mr Rage is constantly amazed about how much I can actually fit in and get the lid to close :rotfl: - it's obvious he never had the Brownie Guide Handbook with it's "how to pack a suitcase" section :rotfl: )
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D
  • Morning all, very dark and windy here today, definitley a storm coming. I did want to go to our local outdoor market this afternoon but doubt very much that it will be on. Did my main shop yesterday and got some feta cheese for 10p and Supadrug had triple plus razors reduced from over £2 to 20p so i got the last 5, no excuse for DH not shaving now lol!
House is clean and tidy, and will do a couple of washes later on, going to do pasta with bacon pieces, mushrooms, onions etc for lunch and a microwave sponge and custard for afters.
Have a few things ending on ebay this morning so off to check my bids, have a good day all BSB xx

    morning

I've been MIA recently, but I'm back :D

OS wise I cooked the christmas cake yesterday. It took 5 hours  but looks worth it. It's all wrapped up and has had its first feeding. I'm feeling proud of myself. Going to copy a picture in the chistmas waitrose magazine with dried cinamon sticks and star anise for the decoration. Easy and quick, but effective ;)

Had a trip to Costco yesterday and got stocked up. Also had a nosy at some bargains for christmas pressies, so will be making a trip back soon I think :D

Have a new recipe for a pineapple and whiskey cake, so going to try that this afternoon. Was very OS this morning as got up early and made Hubbie porridge and a cuppa for his breakfast - as well as making his packed lunch :D What a good wifey I am.

I've been knitting with sirdars new wool - Big softie. Very successful for a beautiful scarf that knitted up really quickly. My sister loves it so making her one for christmas. I want to attempt their 'snowcoat' next.

Non-OS news - bump doing well and that's me 6 months pg now! I can't believe it :D Bump is still small but that's fine by me :D We also got a holiday booked (a friend has lent us their villa so very mse) and got cheap ryanair flights in their last promo to visit friends in the south of england later next month too. Just need that fit to fly letter from the doc now ;)

nice to 'see' everyone. Big hugs to candygirl and everyone else too x
