Well, I was told I should have it x-rayed but I refused. They tried to get me to put the lead blanket over my belly. I said no. Because a baby was growing in there and I was worried it might get harmed. It is not like it is a secret, there are signs everywhere. The doctors would not have offered the x-ray if it was not safe anyway as they know they'll get sued if anything happens!!

We make our own decisions in life. And them blame someone else for them.

    My opinion!
  • Thank you.

Finally someone reading who has some common sense. Thank you for your post blue-monkey.

It just drives me insane though, everyone wants something for nothing and nothing is ever an accident, someone always has to be at fault.

    No-one is safe.

I have public liability for my business just in case...... and I sell bras and knickers on the internet!! It only takes someone to get injured on a hook or for an underwired to come loose and stab someone and they accuse me of selling faulty goods and they'll sue my backside. They could have ruined it by putting it in the machine but they can still try and sue me. It just isn't worth the risk. This is the madness that this world is coming to.

It is not really up to us to accuse the OP of being at fault or to blame here, Assuming a vase dropped from a shelf and broke my toe, regardless of who I think is to blame for it, I am still suffering a broken toe as a result of "somebodies" negligence, it would be no different to me slipping on the floor of a burst washing up liquid container, that hadn't been cleaned up, whether that is the responcability of the customer who dropped it, or the cleaning assistant's, isnt really my problem, should I suffer as a result of someone else, then I should at least be entitled to some sort of compensation.

Should this be within a Tesco supermarket, so long as it was not my fault the accident occurred, Ultimatley I would have to put Tesco into that category of blame, as any legal representative or judge, would more than likely do likewise.

Yes thank you tozer, but my post was in response to hollydays. I didn't ask you for an explanation on the medical teams thoughts. Thank you

My pleasure. And I couldn't really give a stuff whether you asked for it or not.

You said something which was decidedly inconsiderate and not backed up with any medical rationale.

As others have said, it would be big of you to climb down from the high horse, offer an apology and lets move on.

Hey, thinking that we can sue everyone. I was wondering if I could sue my parents because I have ginger hair. Do you think one will be more liable than the other? I got called loads of names at school and it caused me immense distress. And the times I was dressed in clothes too big so they would last me.

I'll let you know what my 'legal helpine says'......

Not totally sure I agree with this. If someone breaches a legal obligation and someone suffers as a result, it is only fair that the loss is compensated.

I don't think you have much to worry about in your business - and I am sure your PL premiums reflect this.
  • Why oh why do these people feel the need to go for 'COMP'!!

I had an argument with a foreign lorry 10 years ago where I was side swiped in the middle lane of the motorway and spun around and hit another car and spun again and landed sideways across the slip road and had a lorry coming towards me (thankfully he stopped in time).

Everyone went on about me suing the lorry driver for my bruised and painful body and the trauma of having the other lorry almost hit me. What a load of bunkum, I lost a couple of days work and was paid as most people would and I wasn't trauamatised.

The car I hit, the lady did claim comp, although wasn't seriously hurt!.

Accidents happen, if I had been seriously injured/disabled that would be different but it was an accident because I was on the lorry drivers blind side.

We get more American every day.

Decidely inconsiderate is your opinion of my post and thank you for your opinion. I am on no high horse, so no need for me to climb down thank you.

    I have moved on.

So if someone punches you in Tesco it's Tescos fault? (we actually have had something very similar to that on here)
