Did you mean this to sound so rude? or was it accidental?
An answer would be nice?"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -

It was not meant as a rude comment. Just saying that if this lady was so concerned about having the x-ray, surely she could have made the decision not to. There isn't much can be done for a broken toe anyway... Just my personal opinion, which we are all entitled to.0 -
Of course she was concerned, who wouldn't be.I guess she was relying on the good advice from her medical team, who obviously knew what they were talking about..0

Well I would hope that the medical team would know what they are talking about.0

Eh? I'm sure they made the clinical decision to proceed with an Xray despite the fact that it was less than ideal in the circumstances (i.e. the benefits outweigh the risks).
Can perfectly understand the OP following the medical advice but being concerned that the Xray could have been avoided but for the injury.0 -
Pinkfluff-I think you owe the OP an apology.

Yes thank you tozer, but my post was in response to hollydays. I didn't ask you for an explanation on the medical teams thoughts. Thank you0 -

Gosh, while I love this site and these forums every day I read another... I've had an accident in ..... I slipped and fell...... I tripped over..... something fell on me...... and then asking what to do.
Go home, have a whinge to your husband/partner/mum/anyone who will listen, vow to never go back there again (which lasts about a week when you run out of something cheap) and get on with life.
Maybe the OP wants an apology and reassurance that it will not happen again - if that is the case then write to Tesco and demand on in writing. It is that easy. They might even bung you some vouchers which you can then spend despite vowing not to go back there again.
Shesh!
It is going to get to a point where all the tins and jars are sold on the bottom shelf only and stacked just one high and they can put all the soft stuff on the shelves higher than shin height just in case something falls off. Someone has clearly looked at it and not put it back properly, I've had loads of stuff fall on me when shopping I've never once though about suing. Why just not go out incase you meet any 'danger'?
When I was 34 WEEKS pregnant I slipped down some steps at London Liverpool Street, the ambulance was called and a kind man came and helped me, the ambulance came and I said I was fine and went off to work in a Taxi. A bit later that morning it was clear I had done something so I went off down to the hospital where I REFUSED an x-ray and they strapped my ankle for it to heal because it was broken. If it was still bad after the baby was born I could have it checked then when it was safe to have an x-ray. You can REFUSE and x-ray, you did not have to have one. This was your CHOICE.
Good grief. It's a TOE! It might be uncomfortable standing up but you can still get around. I did with a broken ankle and a huge bump! I went to the Maternity Ward on crutches too.
Should I have sued??
Write and get your apology and move on.
I am still staggered that you went home and called your legal helpline and then spoke to solicitors. Clearly you think you deserve compensation else you would not have called them asking to take your case on.
What on earth is wrong with people these days!!
There has been no loss, you can still go to work - I went in with my broken ankle and I had a 90 minute commute into London each day. It was YOUR CHOICE to have an x-ray as there are signs all over to tell you that pregnant woem should not have them, you should have just used your brain and said for them to strap it up so it could be kept secure and let it heal on it's own. But I bet you was thinking of how much ££ you could get out of it at the time.
What is wrong with everyone. Fall over, something drops, do not look where you are going, something in the wrong place, nothing displayed properly, no wonder no-one can do anything these days. We might as well stay home and never go out. Just in case something happens. Kids can't play marbles or conkers at school. No wonder.0
