Injured in Tesco's

I was losing faith, there are normal, non compensation seeking people out there!
I'm here!! Love your posts, and i am genuine non compensation seeking person! A dying species.
to the OP, what did you expect the staff in Tesco's to do? Obviously they have procedures which must be followed in the event of a customer being injured. But what more do you expect them to do for you? I don't understand what you hope to gain by having a broken toe due to an unfortunate accident and being 20 weeks pregnant.0 -
But things fall if not correctly stacked or put at an inappropriate height? Accidents do happen but we should learn from them and unfortunately the only way business learns from things is when you sue them and exercise any legal rights you may have just as I am sure Tescos would.0

Ok, the world is going to be a marvellous place to live if we all adopt your attitude. I know, lets go around sueing people, for everything and anything.
Do you honestly think you could sue tesco, a multi million pound company, who have lawyers and all sorts in place to deal with money seekers.0 -
Pink fluff read my post I guess the solcitors didnt fancy a fight and unfortunately in todays world everybody does have the right to sue if they dont like something. You got it right about Tesco loadsa cash and top lawyers that'll be because they like to sue people too.0

A bit of compensation won't make your toe heal any more quickly.
Accidents do happen. Yes, still. Even in this litigious day and age.
If you genuinely believe that Tesco were negligent, and you think that a few grand will really make you feel better about the whole situation, call one of these ambulance-chasing companies that advertises on TV. They'll take anything on. You're far more likely to get them to take on an uncertain case than an old-fashioned high-street firm.
If, as you say, the incident was captured on CCTV, then Tesco will either pay up or fight it once they look at the evidence. What happened afterwards (ie the lack of care you feel you got from the staff) is irrelevant to your entitlement to damages.
Personally, I'd move on.0 -

Right lets get this right.
Lot of things fall if stacked incorrectly, not just a single vase. Things do not fall just because they are at a certain height, gravity has no force horizontally! Someone/thing would have to apply that force.0 -
Im not sure that she ever said she felt she got lack of care from the staff, she just claimed they didn't go one way or the other they just stuck to procedures.
Some people out there do just try to get rich quick by compensation, but this woman was in tesco's and for what ever reason a vase fell and broke her toe, she claims not to be at fault, so why shouldnt she claim. Would you claim personal injury if someone hit your car and you broke something?? Why is it any different?0 -
I personally wouldn't claim 'personal injury' if somebody hit my car and i broke something. That is just plan ridiculous.
Why do people now a days feel the need to claim for every single little thing. And grab money off companies at any oppurtunity.0
