Banned from Tesco - 'Misusing Coupons'
Comments
-
How one employee, who works in a petrol station can be privy to the most complicated of coupon policies in Tesco stores nationwide I do not know.
I'll point you in a direction. Theres a funny pattern I've noticed here. Some guessed from the start the op was not telling the truth and knew they completely taking the !!!!. Some didn't and started the usual Supermarket bashing exercise. See below:A 'sorry' isn't enough. It would need to be a BIG apology for me. Being banned from the store, refused a conversation by the manager how many times? Not to mention the humiliation when the event took place, and then we have all of the staff informed of your 'banning'.
I'd write a very nasty letter - not asking for compensation, but showing your distress and asking them to try and review policies at that store. Coupon use and its limitations needs to be made clear to the staff AND to teh consumer via the written word (even if just on a board in the shop) and the people who 'dealt' with you (name if you can) need re-training, or something.
The ones who knew what was going on have all admitted to either having once worked with the public or still currently do, or 'employee' the word you used above. It's funny in the end isn't it, which group of people turned out to be right about what was going on.
You can take things at face value Petrafyde if you want, but remember some of us are better at analyzing situations. Remember the next time you come out with "be privy to the most complicated" some of us are just better at certain things than you are.0 -
As anyone can see by my no. of posts I'm not a 'forum' regular but if I see something that is blatantly obvious I will speak up.
I am not at all interested in past posts of OP or anyone else for that matter but this forum and others, I am sure, allow anyone and everyone to look back. Maybe this is done to stop people from being economical with the truth!
OP has pm'd me asking me to remove personal information about him. I have said I will do that if he apologises for misleading people and thereby causing arguments between posters. Not that I have put anything on that is actual identifying info - none of us will recognise him in the street - the info is freely available on this forum for anyone and everyone.
It just annoys me that things like this happen when Martin set this site up purely for people to help each other, not upset other users.
Why do people knock Tesco at the drop of a hat? They give a good service, good prices etc and because of that they are extremely successful. I would think that most of the people who have posted in this thread are coupon users at Tesco. Why bite the hand that feeds you? Nobody else gives clubcard points, takes anyone elses coupons, takes coupons when you haven't actually bought the goods. If you don't like them go to Sainsbury, or Lidl or wherever. The ones on here who have complained must have some gripe the way they have laid into some posters - obviously you have had some problem or other.
I don't believe that OP was banned without any previous warning. How come all the security and staff knew him!!
Something else that didn't seem quite right - on the 23rd Oct at 8.05 he hadn't heard from Tesco but by 9.16 he had and the ban had been lifted! I can't really imagine a manager ringing at that time of night but maybe as a D.I I have an inquisitive nature.
Just think about it.:rolleyes:0 -
Why do people knock Tesco at the drop of a hat?
Several reasons. People like playing victim, they like to think theres an 'establishment' forcing them to do things. People are greedy, they don't like successful business's, they get envious. As soon as a business does well and makes money and therefore is in the public eye people like to think "well if it's making money then it must be making too much money". They like to think they are getting overcharged because they're greedy and want the money for themselves. They'll turn a blind eye when you show that the profit margins are only around 3% to 5% http://www.bized.co.uk/compfact/ratios/ror12.htm.
Greed is a factor whether people choose to acknowledge it or not. People will moan about the credit crunch saying thats why they complain about Supermarket prices (which I've just shown the profit margins above are very cheap). The credit crunch was caused by greed. People spent too much money they didn't have. Supermarkets haven't had price wars because they wanted to have higher margins, they knew the public are only motivated by how much money they can save.
Some people try and blame Supermarkets for farmers making less and less money. It's the public demand for the cheapest possible prices that really got the farmers in that position. The Supermarkets if they had to respond to the public wanting to pay less they'd then need to buy the stock for less. The public then try and blame the Supermarkets for this, if they really cared why didn't they stop using them and either use farm shops or butchers, makers, green grocers etc? It's because they don't. They want things cheap and want to blame someone else for the consequences.0 -
You see, uktim, your last post is what I'm talking about. Mostly, I think you're wrong and just as bigoted as the people you attack, but at least you have an intelligent argument, albeit I mostly disagree with it (I do agree with some of it though!). Why not limit your posts to intelligent comment, instead of just barking and nodding like in every other post of yours I've seen?0

"I have an amazing local Tesco's!
Did a little bit of shopping just now, and came to £14.83!!!
So out came my coupons, to the value of around £30.00, and this young lady was quite surprised with the amount I had!
But she let me scan them all and had a joke with me about them!
So I paid 18p! :j
So since I have started coupon saving, I have saved £49.51 worth!!!
Only spent £1.45!
Quite fantastic for my first week! I am extremely lucky to have fantastic staff in my local Tesco's!"
mmm and you wonder why they have banned you! Hopefully you'll actually have to start paying for your shopping like everyone else from now on.0 -
I agree and about the time, you are right a manager wouldn't ring as it would be the swop from the day team to the night team and the night team wouldn't handle complaints. I agree with everything you sayAs anyone can see by my no. of posts I'm not a 'forum' regular but if I see something that is blatantly obvious I will speak up.

You sir are on the legendary poster list
And how did you know the OP was a bloke?0 -
You treat every poster as if they're either stupid, lying or hiding something, so you're bound to be right some time  A stopped clock and all that...The ones who knew what was going on have all admitted to either having once worked with the public or still currently do, or 'employee' the word you used above.
