Because there isn't really a policy as such. Store managers can use their own discretion and maybe within your store he/she also allows the staff to have the final say.
As far as staff with attitude is concerned the Tesco staff changed overnight, virtually, when Terry Leheay (sp?) took over. BUT and its a big but you get what you give. I deal with the public and when people are pleasant to me I am pleasant back. If people are a...holes then I give them the benefit for a time but if the attitude doesn't change then I will give them the same back. That is only human nature. I have never in any Tesco store had anything but good service. I use coupons and apart from a couple that wouldn't scan I have had them all accepted. I do not abuse the system by any means. I have taken electrical items back within the 12 months - even cheap ones - again nothing but polite service.
Next time you are shopping just think about how you would like to be treated and make sure that you are at the minimum as polite as that and then may be you wouldn't have any problems.
Sorry, but some people go through life thinking it's other peoples fault when really it's theirs.

I've just highlighted the bits that are so true and some people on here need to take note of.

Now if you're getting poor service everywhere you go there is a reason for that. I as I've said many times before on here like 82much never get any problems anywhere I go. Now it's not fluke, theres a reason!

This is exactly why I don't shop with Tesco. The staff are so rude! If it werent for customers they wouldn't have a job so they ought to buck up their ideas and be nice (or even polite would be a step in the right direction!!!!)

Another reason why I am glad to be on career break
  • The call was made at that time, and I do apologise for 'covering' the truth in some of my posts, and should have mentioned the previous shops.

    Sorry

As anyone can see by my no. of posts I'm not a 'forum' regular but if I see something that is blatantly obvious I will speak up.
I am not at all interested in past posts of OP or anyone else for that matter but this forum and others, I am sure, allow anyone and everyone to look back. Maybe this is done to stop people from being economical with the truth!
OP has pm'd me asking me to remove personal information about him. I have said I will do that if he apologises for misleading people and thereby causing arguments between posters. Not that I have put anything on that is actual identifying info - none of us will recognise him in the street - the info is freely available on this forum for anyone and everyone.
It just annoys me that things like this happen when Martin set this site up purely for people to help each other, not upset other users.
Why do people knock Tesco at the drop of a hat? They give a good service, good prices etc and because of that they are extremely successful. I would think that most of the people who have posted in this thread are coupon users at Tesco. Why bite the hand that feeds you? Nobody else gives clubcard points, takes anyone elses coupons, takes coupons when you haven't actually bought the goods. If you don't like them go to Sainsbury, or Lidl or wherever. The ones on here who have complained must have some gripe the way they have laid into some posters - obviously you have had some problem or other.
I don't believe that OP was banned without any previous warning. How come all the security and staff knew him!!
Something else that didn't seem quite right - on the 23rd Oct at 8.05 he hadn't heard from Tesco but by 9.16 he had and the ban had been lifted! I can't really imagine a manager ringing at that time of night but maybe as a D.I I have an inquisitive nature.
    Just think about it.

    Sorry

And that it wasn't exactly 2 vouchers a week!

I'm more confused now then before

I'm beginning to regret clicking on this thread

And that it wasn't exactly 2 vouchers a week!

In July/August when I first started couponing I did use a lot of coupons in each shop, but the SA's were happy to take the coupons, and thought it was a really good idea.

Over the last month or so, I have limited down to 2 coupons a week, as I read on the Voucher board, that quite a lot of Tesco's were cracking down about the coupon policy, so thought 2 a week wouldn't be a problem.

This still posed a problem. Also that Clubcard is not mine, was just asking for advice for a family friends card.

Once again, I am sorry about the confusion. I didn't mean to cause all this problems, and no excuse can cover what I did, but I was trying to cover my case from the store in question and CS, but don't think this worked.

    Sorry again.

In one of your posts you talk about trying 3 different Tescos and none of them would take your vouchers, that was back in August.

Thanks, we all have an attiude with customers like you fact, seriously you give attitude you get it back but then you complain to get money off cards etc. I'm glad I'm on career break from there, I don't have to listen to customers with the attitude, and yes I do think you have an attitude.

In answer to what you asked, thats a training issue and a miss communication of the policy or the staff ignoring team 5.

Retail staff are treated like poo but still we have to kiss your bum and call it ice cream.
    P

The poster has an attitude because they are querying the fact that at their Tesco no 2 staff members know their policy? If Tesco can't make their mind up, suggest how the customer can use the coupons then. Has it ever occurred to you that some customers would just like a hassle free experience - where they can find the goods, have them priced correctly and know clearly which coupons they can use. (And avoid staff who patently hate their job)

Oh, and which is it then - do you have an 'attitude' with customers you don't like, or do you kiss their bums? Or haven't you made up your mind yet?
