An opinion which is calling my opinion into question, that in my book is a confrontation. If you don't want confrontation/discussion on a subject don't call into doubt what an OP has said or open a debate on an unnecessary subtopic. Because they are very likely to back up their opinion.

Your idea of "letting things lie" is quite different to mine.

Last night I let your post #12 lie, notice the difference?

I don't think it's fair on sellers to have to refund postage when someone change their mind. After all if they have to take something back to the shop because they have changed their mind they have to physically go and make the trip, so why is it any different because the item is posted?

Quite. The reason for the law is to stop companies selling a shoddy product that they know will probably be returned charging a high P&P that they still make a profit out of.

A classic example is those 'you must buy this overpriced piece of crap - 30 days money back guarantee if not competely satisfied' TV adverts that say things like 'only £39.99' in massive impact and then quickly add afterwards something like 'plus only 19.99 P&P'

Before this law the P&P was never refunded so they made a profit even though a massive percentage were returned. They still do this, but if you know your rights you can request the P&P back too - but don't expect it without asking.

They hope that you leave it towards the end of the 30 days and their terms apply...

The unfortunate side effect is it catches reputable traders and increases the costs for normal customers too.
