Good morning all! Drizzle has now stopped and sun's trying to peep through, but it's chilly today, still not cold enough to persaude me to put the heating on, well actually the boiler is still out so couldn't put it on anyway lol! Very money saving though!

Hello to new posters!
Well today so far I've swished and swiped the kitchen, discovered I own a lot of side plate, about a dw full, they were hidden in ds's room and made an appearance yesterday evening whilst I was at w**k!
Got curry in moski, used dd2's stuff from her cookery class as a base - they each got half a teaspoon of curry paste to add to their ingredients, but there wasn't time to cook it apparently! So she brought home a lock n lock box of tinned toms, chopped potato, onion and about 4 teeny tiny florets of cauli (no idea what she did with the rest!), couldn't taste any curry flavour, but she tells me it def went in there. Ah well, sorted out tonight's tea anyway! Will add coconut later, plenty of veg, lentils, chickpeas and spices are simmering nicely at the mo.
Brekkie was toasted cheese sarnies for dd3 and ds! Cereal for the rest of us.
Lunch was sarnies for big three, yoghurt, apples, rasins and crisps (found at the back of cupboard, hope they're okay!) dd3 didn't want sarnies, apparently she hates my bread (again!) even though it was eaten happily for brekkie, so she has celery, carrot and pepper pieces to dip in cream cheese, yoghurt, pineapple, banana and rasins!
I've forgotten to put on some bread, so best do that soon, and then the day's my own. So think I shall read my book for a while.
Hugs to anyone in need and congratulations if they are due anywhere! xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Hello everybody :hello: and hugs to all especially Candygirl and little Dylan (extra snuggle there....)
Well, today I have done some work but there were a couple of other people on the digital website - the  - so I didn't get as much as yesterday. It'll be good when one of the others starts giving me work at the beginning of November. I suppose I could ask them to bring my start date forward but I'm having a bit of a break. Going to hospital in about 10 mins to have my MR scan of my abdo - let's see what's causing my gall bladder symptoms now I haven't got one :rotfl: See you all later! But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green0 -
Essex Girl, sorry to hear you news, my thoughts are with your family. I know exactly what you are going through, my Gran is in hospital at the moment, just hoping she can hang on until mum makes it back from Oz on Thursday evening.
OSing for me today involves trying to stretch what was supposed to be Spanish chicken in the SC into vegetable casserole with a hint of chicken as we maybe eight for tea tonight instead of the usually three. Peeled all the veg last night while waiting for family to turn up, finally got to bed at 1am. Otherwise its work as normal, whatever that is. Amongst all the chaos we've got someone viewing the house this evening as well. Keep on smiling everyone.0 -
Essex Girl
I am so sorry about your nan.
Penny p enjoy the break and take it easy.
Have found that Optical express in Leeds will provide glasses the same day as the eye test if it is a straightforward prescrition.
Ordered variofocals for myself in York and got them in about a week which I thought was very good.
Made bacon and eggs for me and DD in the Remoska and DD(14) might be bringing home a friend so need to shape the defrosted hobnobs and bake them this afternoon.
I got a letter from my estate agent saying he "blames the media" and has contacted "Location, location, location" - I won't be holding my breath then!!!;)
"Friend" has just replaced our "For Sale" sign with a "sold " one as a joke!
It might just have been funny the first time- a few weeks ago - but I am rapidly losing any sense of humour!
Will try to remove the blasted thing by brute force later- no point in phoning the agent as it will have been removed by the "friend" by then. GRRRH!!!!
Need to hang the washing out as machine has just finished and try to look busy before DH gets home.
Hugs to everbody and see you later"This site is addictive!"

Rats, can't find the motor end of my mini mouli type thingy, so am having to puree the veg the properly old fashioned way - with a wooden spoon, a sieve and a sore wrist! Still, it's going ok, strained the stock off earlier and picked out the promising bits of veg for pureeing...DFW stats:

Afternoon ladies!
Suprisingly another lovely sunny day here in Devon. Have a man coming today to give us a quote on moving a huge huge tree stump from the edge of our garden as the roots have loosened the boundry wall. (the reason we had the tree cut down about 4 yrs ago) Now we want the wall down, the stump removed and backfilled so we can use that corner of the garden. The council will re-do the wall for us as apparently the garden is our property, but the wall is theirs!Morning all
...it was lovely to sit and eat with it with DH...I miss him at this time of year when they're lifting potatoes and its 12 hour days for him. We've been married 34 years...hope it's still the same in another 34
Essex-girl - I am so sorry for your loss.
Snowy - gentle hugs again for Dylan - hope he gets better soonAnwen and Angelite.
Pennypin- hope your blood is back to normal soon, and enjoy your holiday!
The fish pie was absolutely fabulous (darh-lings...:rotfl: ). No, it really exceeded my expectations and we have more left for tonight which I am really looking forward to. I put carrots in with the mashed potato and served the pie with broccolli. Ended up putting a red pepper from the garden and a little onion and garlic in the pie with the fish and prawns too. It was really tasty!
Ok, washing is in the machine and the bread is out of the breadmaker for lunch time sandwiches so I better get on with my day.to anyone who wants one and congratulations to anyone celebrating something today.

Hello everybody & welcome Anwen.
Essex-girl- so sorry to hear about your Nan.
Had a busy morning hoovering throughout, mopping floors and general tidying.Washers finished so will deal with that in a mo.I need to put the BM on as well as i've nearly finished the loaf at lunchtime.
I've got some cooked mince out of the freezer for tea, will make cottage pie,we need something easy as we are going to my brothers after to take his birthday card and pressie .Not seen much of my little niece since she started school so looking forward to that.
We're also going to talk about what to do on Christmas Day- I think they are feeling a bit guilty that its always me who does the cooking, and he has offered to do it this year(nervously) if I want, but are still happy to come here if we want.I do usually enjoy all the preparations etc. and we have more room to seat everyone than them.
I am carrying on with my sewing shortly-very pleased with the 2 charity shops skirts that I altered yesterday(wearing one today) I don't tend to wear skirts too much in summer(white legs:eek: )but i do like them with my knee boots.
Enjoy the rest of your day x:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0
