  • Hello to everyone. Thank you all very much for the welcome to the site, and especially to the Fibro Forum.
Hope you all survived through everything. Special thoughts to those dealing with the aftermath of tragic circumstances at this particular time, it can't be easy.

Sorry I can't remember all your names yet, but then you will know it's a ME thingy........LOL. Looking forward to chatting with you all. Having some rest time now, as I travelled back to my home town for the Xmas lunch with my Mum, and didn't come back till late last night. It's only about 50 miles away, about an hour's drive, but making sure I've packed everything just takes it out of me. Had to be back for this morning to take my son into work for 8 am. He's home from Uni for the Xmas break. The last few months I have had to travel to and fro quite frequently as my Mum is in her eighties, and is suffering with memory problems (tell me about it.....lol!!!). So you know how it is, it doesn't hit you straight away, but when you begin to relax along comes the steamroller and flattens you, just when you think you've coped with a little extra pressure.......LOL.

Anyway take care all, will be back later for a chat..........scarletslady.

    Thanks BZ,
Sorry Magenta I havnt been online since Wednesday so I didnt see your other post until now.

This Fibro clinic do take nhs patients but from what Ive heard theres about a years waiting list and then you only get to se him for about 5mins. My friend went private, a lady at her church paid for her to go, and with the meds he gave her she really went downhill and ended up bedridden for 2 months.
He has helped some people but you must remember that he cant cure you.
Good luck with whatever you decide

Oh dear.. don't like the sound of that!!!
Has anybody had any positive results from this clinic?

Hi again to everyone and welcome to all the newcomers :T. It has been a really busy time for all of us it seems - so now we hit the post Christmas flare :o.

DD1 is back in Glasgae now and DD2 plus partner are heading up into Northumberland for a couple of days then coming back for New year. DS1 will be with us until uni resumes then peace and quiet will resume .

I managed to complete the jacket I was knitting (the one where the pattern was a tad inaccurate and would have fit someone twice my size). I pulled out the whole thing, knitted it up in the smallest size, yet still needed an extra ball of yarn just to finish the edging! It now looks very good according to my two DD's who are very honest about my creations :D. I've now started on a sweater in Patons Art which is a lovely snuggly yarn. I have knitted this one before - but when the wool was on offer at just 69p I couldn't resist;) and this time it is in a lovely light colour called 'Ginger'.

The next big project is a clear out and serious de-clutter. I am going to weed through my book collection and put them on Amazon. Anything that can go on ebay will do and the rest can go via Freecycle.

Has anyone managed to get any good bargains in the sales? We got two room sized remnant carpets for less than £200 in total including underlay and fitting so I am well pleased - considering we could have done with replacing them this time last year.

    Love to all,
    Unity

Yep, I know that feeling only too well. Luckily I have a house-trained husband, so he'll help put tonight's dins together when he gets in from work (which should be any time now).

Hope everyone has had reasonable health (well, as good as it gets anyway).

Hiya all, glad you all had a good xmas, hi to any newbies. Me and DH both have flu at the moment so things not too good here. The family is keeping well away lol although we've had plenty of offers of help with shopping etc.
We have brought a new sofa in the sales as ours is on its last legs, but we got it online and it wont be with us for up to 3 months, I cant wait as our old one is doing my back in.
Hope you are all feeling healthy
