Had a quick trip out earlier and now am on the sofa with heating and halogen heater on and it's starting to get toasty.
I MUST get something done today - I've had a very lazy week so far after having a bad week last week, but I really need to stop procrastinating so much and just get my butt in gear.
I was suprised too about the dry skin thingy. I thought it was just age too! Wonder if this is common with all AIs.
I've done something that not everyone may agree with, but is very important to me.
This year I've tried hard to improve the way I feel about myself - lost weight, having hair cut regularly etc, but absolutely hate the rosacea that long-term steroid use has caused on my cheeks. I've tried camouflage make up, but it just isn't me to wear make up all the time.
I've booked an appointment to see a cosmetic surgeon with a view to having it removed with laser treatment. I obviously prefer to have this rather than the invasiveness of the injection method.
I KNOW that some more will appear in the future, but I know that I will be ecstatic to get this removed.
Some of the medication I am on gives me the sweats and whether or not it's true, I feel people looking at me thinking "look at that fat bird all sweaty and red cheeked".
I've been saving quite hard recently and can't think of anything that will improve my life quite the way I feel this will.
raeh - have you thought about hydrotherapy? The water is heated to blood temperature and it's wonderful to feel free movement in warm water.
debtfreemoneytart - I do understand how you feel about unfulfilled dreams. I really don't want to minimise how you feel, but can you try to transfer that feeling into that life just turned out differently and maybe you can make different dreams that are attainable? Congrats on your wedding anniversary.
Hello to everyone that's new. I, too, pop in every so often to see if there are any new posts!
Stay warm and well everyone and try to retain your sense of humour.
Warm hugs to all.

p.s. I have an over-developed sense of the ridiculous and almost pulled a muscle laughing last night. I was watching a silly real-life police programme. A drug raid was being carried out on a crack house and compared to their housekeeping, my place looked like a hovel!

I found it really helpful raeh. I only had 6 x 40 min sessions on the NHS, but I used to be a real water baby, so loved it as well as benefitting it from it greatly.
Local hospital alos has a hydro club you can join if they have any vacancies - £5 join fee and £14 a month.
I'm off for my daily congratulatory hot bath. I just networked a wi fi printer for the first time. Took me longer to get the print cartridge bags open than to do the rest. Damn these hands
Taking my Dad out for lunch tomorrow, so will do my hair, thank you Polo. Where is you btw? Hope all well.
Careful hugs to you sharon - hope you are wrong about your imminent flare up

thought I'd check in before bedtime but got marshmallow head so can't remember anything I was going to do on here...
Had a bit of a down day today, things got the better of me I think, never mind, hopefully tomorrow will be better.
Hydrotherapy in really warm water is great cos I agree, swimming can be really hard work!
Anyway, hope you've all had a good day, have a good night's sleep and I'll see you tomorrow :snow_grinGet busy living, or get busy dying.

I have no idea what I was gonna reply to now... umm....
I think I'll start with beeka: no worries for the URLs - not sure if they're now doing the nice comfy foamy ones I've got with a proper back in - it can be a bit annoying if the bottom of your jeans get wet and then rub against your socks at the heel  They're great round the house though too and for just popping out etc. Cos of what they're made of it's like insulation too so my feet are nice and warm. :T (can you tell I love em?)
Um - spoons theory was mentioned again... I thinkFor all those who haven't checked it yet, do it!
http://www.butyoudontlooksick.com/the_spoon_theory/ (just to save you searching). My friends and family often ask me now how many spoons I have today etc
ummm... I think the other thing I was gonna say may've been something along the lines of:: it's great to see that we're not the only ones, the group is growing steadily, and no I don't just think that it's ladies who get fibro - but then I don't know much about it other than what I feel - and half of this I put down to ME or something else I'm sure!
Oh! and re the hands/skin thing - I get flare ups of like a weird skin thing a bit like eczema every now and again and have to put this minging smelling stuff on to make it go away (which STINGS!!). I've always thought I had old looking hands... maybe it *is* related..?!
Think that was it... but who knows?"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0
